Yesterday my new trail bike arrives and I'm back to having all my bikes ready to ride
Now to decide if I upgrade or save for a new road bike, that Orro Evo Tri is looking mighty appealing |

I’ve just received my new Ribble Endurance SL disk. I specked it up a bit on Ribbles bike build. It’s a thing of pure beauty to me lol. Big step up from my last bike. Had one short ride in the week and hoping to get a few more miles in tomorrow as weather looking good |

I went for my longest ride in three years earlier this week, a flat fifty miles which was really hard work. I was feeling pretty good about it until she playfully slapped my arse later that evening. Ouch. |

Purchased a second hand Dolan Scala tt bike last week. Getting a bike fit next week, as I'm not used to the tt position. Looking to use it for half and full Ironman competitions.
Turbo misery this morning with limited time, but hoping to get out this weekend.
Enjoy your rides, kinky or otherwise.

Not ridden in over 6 months. Just moving property because the one we were in was damp. My trusty steady is rather rusty and it’s taking a lot of TLC to get it rideable again. Talk about stiff... the chain links win hands down to fab lol |

It can be worth putting clip-on aero bars on your normal road bike. Then you can work on holding position as much as possible even on regular rides.
Being able to maintain position for hours is more important that getting the last watt out of an aggressive position for longer events, imhe.
By longer I mean 100tt+, 200k, 12h or 24h.

Yeah given I'm going to use it for distance races I'm going to go for a less aggressive position. Besides I could never pull off the pointy helmet look |

Close to giving up waiting for my new road bike (Canyon). Delivery was supposed to be July, then September, now November at the earliest . Everybody seems to be blaming manufacturing problems for components (Shimano etc).. |

Thanks. It really is a thing an amazing bike. I ordered it online a couple of weeks ago and delivery as estimated to be May next year. But I actually received it in under a week which surprised me as I went for the Ultegra group set which I know is in short supply. |

One of my bikes is a Peugeot 12 speed road bike. It's 26 years old and immaculate. Been through several sets of tyres and covered 1000's of miles. Anyone any idea what it's worth - if anything? Shame to get rid of it but I'm after something new. |

In M not condition this sort of thing can be worth quite a lot I recently had my dad's old frame refurbished and rebuilt it as a fixed gear it's monetary value is around £500 for the cost of the work and the parts but is absolutely priceless to me. If you are thinking about getting something new do it sooner rather than later just to get something |

What grade of Shimano group set components are you waiting on. I ordered my Ribble 2 weeks ago and was advised in a waiting time of 7-8 months as I chose Ultegra group set. But I had the bike delivered to my house the Saturday after I ordered it so waited less than a week which I thought was bizarre. Maybe I was just very lucky…but I’m not complaining lol |

Is this thread ok to ask for a cycling friend to join me for some rides on the Camel trail? I am recuperating after 12 weeks off as a result of being hit by a car! So I need a gentle slow ride to get me fit again off road.

Nobody has paid road tax since 1937, we pay vehicle excise duty these days and that's _ased on emissions so would still pay nothing, I agree on the insurance thing and most people riding expensive bikes will be insured as most specialist cover comes with public liability, accidental and legal cover included, believe me when you spend £1000's on a push bike you want it looked after. |

Blah blah.
My car is free road tax so why should I pay for a bicycle? I pay insurance for riding my bike.
Alot of drivers are a nightmare and should take extra lessons.. just saying |

I'm looking at retiring very soon and one of my plans is to cycle along many of the country's canal towpaths as possible. There aren't that many in the south east but a good opportunity to travel. I also love the disused railways that are now cycle paths. Generally flat, traffic free and with great scenery. What's not to like! |

Bla bla bla..Yes of course. Obviously all truck drivers are perfect and never make mistakes. I drive a lot with my job and I’ve obviously just imagined all the mistakes I see them make including pulling out in front of me and making me brake hard on a daily basis. Lol
Truckers and Cyclists have more in come than you would imagine buddy in that it only takes a few bad ones to give everyone a bad name |

I’ve only the one bike, a Cannondale SSE 105 with Fast Forward wheel upgrade. I commute 2-3 times a weeknight in all weathers, 18 miles each way so a decent ride. About to put my puncture proof tyres on, clip on mudguards for the wet days and hey presto I have a winter bike. Always washed down after wet rides or where on filthy roads - my wife reckons I pay more attention to the bike than I do to her!! |

I did what will probably be my last ride of the year on my summer bike on Monday (Cervelo R5/Dura-Ace/Edcos)... I think she knew... She tried so hard to impress me, like a girlfriend that knows she's going to get dumped!
A nice lumpy 30 miles around the glorious Ribble Valley, she glided smoothly and silently, every gear-shift snicked perfectly into place, I climbed like I had wings and returned just over 18mph.
Rode with the club last night on the Kinesis winter bike and boy, did I feel the extra weight!!
I do love winter night rides though.
Planning to sell my TT bike (Argon 18 E114) as it's not getting used, looking at a Laverack Jack titanium disc as a do-it-all bike next. |

I know you had a bike fit but I was advised that with an ISM saddle you should move it as far forward on the rails as is comfortable and then a little bit more.
You should then feel a little bit of pressure behind your pelvic bones when you are riding. That should roll your pelvis forward slightly and take extra pressure off you perineum. Result, reduced cock numbness and it helps your lower back as well. Seems to work for me. |

Thanks for the advice
It is as far forward as it can go. it's partly my own fault Speed concept set up for better areo than comfort .... triathlon isn't your friend when it comes to comfort lol .... but it's only 112 miles then get to run it off |

See you live in London? The male half of good friends of ours and myself are planning a Sunday cycle ride around inner London. Cycling and taking photographs. Is cycling in London as bad as the papers say ie lots of aggro' with car/bus/lorry drivers? We are keen cyclists but a bit apprehensive about having difficulties. |

I personally don't think it's too bad. It is a city after all, so just keep your wits around you. Sunday good day to do it - less traffic. Try to do the Mall, the Embankment, Regent's Park and the City (empty on Sundays). And, if you fancy a nice hill, try Swain's Lane (by Highgate cemetary) - not too far from Regent's Park and a top 100 climb! Enjoy. |

If you are serious about using it, I personally would go for the Wahoo Kickr Smart. A bit more expensive, but probably the best out there. They also have a cheaper version - the Wahoo CORE, but have not looked up what the difference in features are. |
