So my partner had to come off the pill years ago and doesnt want the coil or implant (mostly because theyre likely uncomfortable and hurt to get done ) can anybidy recommend any that she could use other than condoms lol.

Does the patch work?

Could have the depo injection. If she has had children then the coil is easier to fit. They use a numbing gel and is relatively painless, advantage is, it lasts five years.

Why did she come off the pill? If she was issues with hormonal contraceptives then she'll likely suffer the same issues with the patch, injections, and implant.

Has she considered injections? Has she tried other types of pill? There are hundreds of variations with different properties that can be better for some women and worse for others.

If she doesn't want the coil then that really only leaves condoms or behavioural methods like pull out or calendar. Xx

The pull out and calender method is just so risky still.

She stopped the pill as she was had side common effects and also didnt help with achne (caused mostly by pill)

She'll possibly have the same issues with any hormonal contraception then.

But as I said there are different types and combinations, it would be worth her talking to her GP about them and trying another one. Tbf, achne isn't the worst side effect. But I understand her problem, I had to come off the pill after suffering increasingly worse side effects to the point it was getting dangerous. I had tried 6-7 different types over the years. Xx

Hull

Was it the combined pill she was taking? If so she could try the progesterone only one.

If hormones are the main problem she will likely struggle with patches or injections too.

The coil is uncomfortable to fit but for most women no worse than a bad period pain and then you can forget it for years.

Tell her to do some research.

I'm on my 4th coil so they can't be that bad.
