Is it appropriate to message someone privately who responds to a post you have posted.
Reason for asking I have had some replies to another post from some really interesting ladies and I don't want to misread anything. |

Think it depends, have received a few messages just recently as I think some people are put off posting what they feel as they will get a lot of abuse thrown at them if they post public. |

Guess that is a part and parcel of a public forum that's not to say I agree
Imagine subject matter is key to that if it's emotive or not. |

I think it's best to try and judge from the tone of a response. Some women are happy to enter into private correspondence some not so much. |

Judging tone I think is a weakness of mine especially as most people here are quite friendly

people mainly post to the forum for a open chat so unless they indicate on the post that they want private messages then i would keep it to the forum ...
i get people who want to talk privately rather than on the forun i just block them now |
