Accepting everyone does their rope differently, I tend to follow the Japanese ethos of rope. The following quote that I have lifted sums it up. The context of the quote is that in a forum on the site that can't be mentioned someone had asked how to do a specific tie that they named. This was the response from a respected rigger based in Japan, who had not heard of the tie and did a search for it .
"...And I did find the name on an American rope bondage site, which to the best of my knowledge, does not have reference to any person important in the shibari culture, the history of shibari, its origins, or the fact that shibari has a very important component which is the erotic communication between the person tied and the person tying, and eventually between them and the person watching.
In particular, shibari is not so much, imho, about "Oh ! I want to do this tie, let's find a model" than it is about "Oh ! I am meeting someone, based on that person's desire, what could be the rope of the day"... But all this might be complicated..." |

Getting properly roped and suspended is one of my absolute favourite things. Gets me into the zone in no time and then allows me to easily flow into whatever happens next. I've tried this in Mf and with MMf and both work pretty well Lxx |
