After being told by a health professional, a government report was not being published due to fears it will cause social unrest, just a quick bit of research is quite damming of some groups. Some people may want to change there preferences in here. We need to look after each other as the games we play have consequences.

Stay safe peeps

Most people on here I would think are aware of Sti's and how they are spread. A lot get regularly checked as well.

Why should anyone have to change preferences ?You can just as easily avoid the people whose preferences don't match yours. And look out for your own sexual health.

This is true, but many don’t take care or simply don’t care and still fab, the amount of pics you see with multiple partners in full intercourse with no condom is shocking, plus those who state they want no condoms

Are you "not" talking about BBC? "Social unrest" "quite damning of some groups" "change their preferences" suggests to me that your alluding to something you're not willing to say out loud.

A link, or at least a title of the report, would be useful otherwise we don't know if we're looking at the same thing. It's hard to have a discussion about something based on 'do a Google search'. That way we know we're discussing the same report. It's also common courtesy and good netiquette - even if the site won't allow a link, citing the name or source is perfectly do-able.

On the wider point, yes, everyone should indeed look after and value their sexual health and get tested regularly.

OK about halfway through.

Syphilis, gonorrhoea and chlamydia seem to be the most troublesome.

But the genital warts and hiv infection rates show what impact a preventative medical intervention can provide.

So a syphilis vaccine would be very useful.

I doubt it these things don't get reported over night.

Even for simple reports they can be 6-18 months after the data is collected.

There is also the issue of robustness as data collected in 2020 would not be as robust as data from 2019.

A worldwide pandemic limiting social contact and standard NHS testing would mean 2020 figures would need to be treated with caution.

I see from the report Gonorrhoea has gone from 20 per 100,000 to 60 per 100,000. OMG!!

That means, statistically, you would have to fuck 1,666 people to meet one person with the disease. Then what is the transmission rate? Best figure I can find is 1:3. So the probability of finding an infected person and catching it is around 1 in 5,000. That IS scary!

The odds for dying as a bicyclist are 1:3,825. Gonorrhoea can be cured by antibiotics, death cannot; but I am sure Qanon will tell you a spark plug enema will raise the dead if you ask.

In the end it is individual choice but please let us keep these stds risks and threat in context.

Not correct ! If you sleep with 1 person unprotected, you are sleeping with there entire sexual past, let’s say 1 man has sex with 20 women unprotected, the next woman he sleeps with, she is sleeping with 21, and that soon mounts up. If you choose a group who are statistically more infected than other groups, then you! Are at a higher risk. AIDS spread world wide and was statistically attached to one group

There's nothing especially surprising about that report. I doubt very much that it's a) been withheld or b) it's considered inflammatory to certain groups.

It reports factual data which cannot be argued with. It's also data that's over 2yrs old so needs updating.

Also look at the absolute numbers as well as the percentage increase or decrease. You'll find in some cases, barely 500 people have been diagnosed with a particular STI yet that represents a 50% increase, for example. Learn to think critically.....

I am Correct. The "tree" of infection you speak of is already taken into account in the 60:100,000. I said "the chances of finding an infected person". That may of course be the first one you find or it may be the 99,939th.

Sadly people hide their STIs -

You hear "I have cancer/flu/ebola covid19/endometriosis/piles etc etc " all the time. No one ever says they have chlamydia because of the stigma attached to STIs. They are given an importance far greater than the threat they present. Anyone on here, condomers or not, should get regularly tested.

Junior doctors are highly unlikely to be privvy to what happens to a report they have contributed to (if indeed they have contributed to it). I find the whole story very unlikely.

The 2019 report was published in September 2020.

Conversely we wouldn’t expect the 2020 data to be released until September 2021.

#spoileralert - it’s only August

And that’s not taking into account any delays as much of the NHS is on its knees right now

Look, I was simply told, by a doctor who worked in sexual health, that the statistics and part of the report she worked on was rejected, and she was told, they will not publish that as it is, it would cause uproar.

Picking the bones out the the original post doesn't change what I was told by the doctor involved.

But you have not passed on any information, just that a report (not yet due for publication) has been rumoured to be surpressed, due to reasons not shared.

Its just not very useful and therefore does not really help the greater good.

Picking the bones out? You mean pointing out that the data that has supposedly been suppressed isn’t actually due for release yet?

Come back at this if the data still hasn’t been released this time next year and maybe you’ll get a different reception.

Otherwise stop being so concerned with what everyone else does and simply practice safe sex as you feel is appropriate for your situation, just like the vast majority of people on here do.

In swingers chat, there is a thread running about bear back couples!!!!! This behaviour is ridiculous, but people are trying to attack me for showing concern for people who choose this lifestyle, tried to pass on things that could keep us all safe. Like getting a hot tip on a horse, any information regarding sexual health SHOULD be shared, if you can’t see this, then you are part of the problem.

Very true.

"Most people on here I would think are aware of Sti's and how they are spread. A lot get regularly checked as well.

Why should anyone have to change preferences ?You can just as easily avoid the people whose preferences don't match yours. And look out for your own sexual health.

This is true, but many don’t take care or simply don’t care and still fab, the amount of pics you see with multiple partners in full intercourse with no condom is shocking, plus those who state they want no condoms "

"After being told by a health professional, a government report was not being published due to fears it will cause social unrest, just a quick bit of research is quite damming of some groups. Some people may want to change there preferences in here. We need to look after each other as the games we play have consequences.

Stay safe peeps "

Just out of interest, why was it feared to cause social unrest? STIs spread through sex shock?!? I think if anything governments of all colours have worked hard to raise awareness and ensure people make responsible decisions - I just can't see the benefit of *not* telling people...

Seems like advice to me, which everyone is at liberty to either heed or not.

I remember a guy whose wife I'd met many years ago in bots because he thought he'd contracted Hep B.

That's a sobering thought when you consider the implications I guess.

Thete is no conspiracy, all you need to know about STIs is freely available absolutely everywhere. The short story, the more unprotected sex, the more risk you take. The more partners, the more risk. The less you know about them, the more risk. AIDS is still here. Suphillis, gonorrhoea, herpes, hepatitis, are still there. Even better, there is a resurgence of classic STIs duevto failing hygiene standards. In the baby boomers actually. Of all grouos.

The 2019 lists the statistics of the groups, the tread will continue I’m told but with huge increase in 1 group,

As the report is not yet published and or will be changed or suppressed, according to the doctor I spoke to, no proof can be provided.

that's there business though. Personally I dont use condoms for oral but do for anything else. When active I'm checked every 4 to 6 weeks. Including throat swabs.

I think those that bareback are well aware of the risks..as I am of having multiple partners.

You can obviously but that also means that you shouldn't be passing on potentially misinformation which has come from a friend of a friend.

As many have already pointed out it is unlikely to have been suppressed as the expected date for release has not yet passed and in will most likely be delayed due to that pandemic thing which dominated the news and our lives last year. I would have expected the data to show a significant drop in sti for 2020 as most people were not meeting one another can't see why that would result in suppression of a report.

For those of us who like to stay well informed about STIs, because of our preference for non-monogamous relationships, an other unconventional forms of sexual activity such as group sex, DP and DVP, for quite some time untreatable forms of sexually transmitted infections have been increasing in prevalence, particularly amongst certain age groups, particularly more elderly people.

High quality condoms, use of spermicidal barriers, avoidance of direct oral contact with genitalia and care with shared sexual toys are a wise precaution.

the best line of sexual health is to look after your self if you dont like bareback then best to assume everyone you meet is a barebacker so how to make yourself safe ...well as safe as can be because a condom will not stop most of the std and then theres oral and hands a other parts of the body .... the only safe sex is no sex ...

and to those who are not getting what i mean lets say fore play bit of oral then a good feel and finger then with the same hands thats been touching you roll the condon on to be safe well sorry but if the woman has a std then so will you by just rolling the safe little jonny on your cock ...its not always about your cock the biggest speader of any virus/std is your hands

Read the 2019 report, following reports not yet available

If you feel the statistics upset you, or you feel the statistics are singling out a certain demographic, then I’m very sorry, lock yourself away or go to your safe spaces where naughty facts can’t harm you, or feel free to start your own sexual health advice services. Wow so many comments. It's obvious, obviously, care, attention, precautions, etc, etc. And it's a chance we take, yes we all know, hopefully???

Some STDs easily dealt with, some not so easily. Have to wonder if many would say what they have if there weren't the clinics & cures available????

Think OP hasn't done any harm though by mentioning it, after lock downs, etc, it's a kind reminder nothing more.

Think before you leap & don't let your cock or pussy take control of your common sense!

This tread has now become opinionated, and just ridiculous

For the final time.

I got told by a friend and a doctor, that the work she was asked to do, the data she supplied regarding the current levels of STD/STI’s within communities allocated to her to investigate, can not, or will not be used, as it was will cause issues.

End of,

If only you'd have ended here and not added

just a quick bit of research is quite damming of some groups. Some people may want to change there preferences in here.

That was the (possibly unintentionally) inflammatory but youre disowning.

"Are you asking me to post graphs and charts, and open myself up to abuse because people don’t like the truth. "

Alas we only have your word that what you're not even saying is the truth.

Now, I'll say what I've been told in the past when getting routine checks at the gum clinic. I've been asked if I engage in sexual activity with bi men. When answering yes I've been given the advice and choice to get the hep (can't remember which letter) jabs as "bi men tend to engage in more risky sex"

Now I cannot say if this is true or not, or how dated that statistic may be.

Did I have the jabs? Yes.

The antibodies didn't remain in my system though, I was told the older you are the less effective the injections are.

Has that stopped me having sexual contact with bi men? No. It hasn't changed my opinion one jot. I'm responsible for my own sexual health alongside whoever I may be shagging (ie making sure the condom is in date and fits correctly)

I'll ask

Are bi men who you're referring to?

Also, are your facts actual facts that you've seen with your own eyes or facts you've been told about?

Did you get the boosters? Hep B is the main one for men who sleep with men. When I had my course it was day one, then a booster at year one and a booster at year five I believe. I just had my antibodies checked in June, six years after my last booster, and he said my antibodies were ten times the desired levels .

I was also offered Hep A a few years back, I only had one of those but he said my antibodies were high.

I had HPV in 2018. If memory serves that course was day one, day twenty eight and month six...I might be wrong though, three years ago and I'm senile on the best of days.

I'm gay.

"op i think its ignorant of you to assume any thing of us as swingers ...most of us in the scene look after ourselves we know how to be tested regular we also have a free mind as to who we play with and how ...

the best line of sexual health is to look after your self if you dont like bareback then best to assume everyone you meet is a barebacker so how to make yourself safe ...well as safe as can be because a condom will not stop most of the std and then theres oral and hands a other parts of the body .... the only safe sex is no sex ...

and to those who are not getting what i mean lets say fore play bit of oral then a good feel and finger then with the same hands thats been touching you roll the condon on to be safe well sorry but if the woman has a std then so will you by just rolling the safe little jonny on your cock ...its not always about your cock the biggest speader of any virus/std is your hands"

This is utter bollocks. Stis are most commonly transmitted by body fluids e.g. semen being in contact with mucuous membranes - rectum, vagina, throat etc. Not by fingers. It can happen and some e.g. HPV, warts can transmit via skin contact but chlamydia, Gonnorhea, HIV etc are usually transmitted by body fluids and mucuous membrane contact. Condoms are a very effective way of preventing Stis.

Also on the topic of Stis, if you're engaging in bareback sex much or other activities that put you at high risk, consider looking into PreP to prevent HIV transmission, it's becoming more available in the UK xxx

Also postal Sti kits are available in many areas, piece of piss to do. I test every 4 weeks.

While you are right that it’s a manageable condition, you are mistaken in thinking that it is ‘incredibly rare’ for the infection to progress to the late stage before diagnosis, I’m afraid. 29% of 19-24 year olds are diagnosed in the late stage, over 50% of folks are in their 30s and 40s, while the percentage of late stage diagnoses rises to 60% in people aged 59 and above. Late stage HIV is the same thing as AIDS. The former is used more commonly by those in the field of medicine than the latter, due largely to the stigma snd association with death. A patient is late stage when their CD4 count is below 200 at diagnosis (as AIDS was also classified originally). You’re welcome.

"Is there a summary of this thread available?"

Op claims a report is being suppressed. Also says that he’s done research and certain groups should be avoided.

Replies point out latest report was sept 2020 so no evidence of suppression (tbf that probably means 2021 draft has been produced so could be in suppressed)

Replies also seek to understand what groups he is talking about as this could be seen as a dog whistle.

Op skirts this question. Typically by saying the report isn’t released so how would he know. We get back on the suppression question

Honestly, this thread is more likely to damage my health than an STI

After being told this,I looked on line and found a report from 2019, it clearly shows that the black, Caribbean and black African, seem to have the highest number of reported STDs, according to that report. She also told me due to stigma and culture reasons, the BAME community isn’t getting treated and that the infection rate was soaring. She supplied this data to her superiors, who then told her that, the statistics were very alarming, but the data would not be used, due to fears of NHS being called racist. I an era of cancel culture and anyone and everyone being called a racist for simply having difference of opinion from the far left. It would appear that some health professionals and management would rather suppress the information rather than be subject to abuse and loose there jobs.

This thread proves why they have choose to do that. No doubt I will be on standby for allegations of being racist myself. I’m white, with shaved head, and have dared mention BEAM in a negative way, so clearly I must be racist. For the record I am not, and have dated a beautiful black lady in passed. Anyone send me one message of abuse or I deem it to be abusive, will be reported to admit. Be grown up and put an end to this.

But the previous report, from 2019, concluded that the BAME community had higher rates of STIs. I fail to see why coming to the same conclusion in 2020 or 2021 would be controversial? For whatever reason, it's a fact. Ditto for men who have sex with men (they have higher rates of STIs - reasons varied).

There's lots of public health epidemiology stats that show certain demographics are more likely to have XYZ medical or social problem. This is not new information by any means.

This

Plus the 2019 report actually indicates that the fastest growing increase within the BAME community is actually amongst the Asian Community. Further indicating the fact that higher rates in the black community is an established medical fact and highly unliked to cause controversy.

"But the previous report, from 2019, concluded that the BAME community had higher rates of STIs.

Once again I shall repeat myself, she told me it has soared,,,, and the new figures are very alarming. And do take in mind the 300/800 people a day landing on the beaches.

Ok, so you started off with

"After being told by a health professional, a government report was not being published due to fears it will cause social unrest, just a quick bit of research is quite damming of some groups. Some people may want to change there preferences in here. "

Which was met with

"

OK... Can you share any of the salient facts? "

And you replied with

"A quick search bring up results "

And now you're saying

"

For gods sake !!!! It’s not on google"

So there's report that's being suppressed because it's "quite damming of some groups" but you won't say which groups, instead you tell people to google it, when they google it and can't find it, it's because "For gods sake !!!! It’s not on google", so then people ask you to clarify seeing as it's not on google, you then won't clarify, instead tell people to google it and around and round we go.

Have you ever considered a career in politics?

Are the people landing on the beaches riddled with syphilis?! Is that why STI rates have increased in some communities? At least the underlying "ideas" are being brought out, anyway.....

Totally agree

Don't know how they get away with it

Herpes

Once you got it cant get rid of that with a visit to the clinic!!.

Also ought to think about risk of spreading corona virus

People on here bigging uptrend NHS and the vaccine programme

And even working as volunteers

Then shagging multiple often bare bare back

Clueless!!
