Hi everyone,
I have the IUD 5 year coil and I will be having it replaced next week, to another IUD but for ten years insread. I have never had babies. Does it hurt to have the IUD replaced? My doctor said I should take a painkiller before turning up. Thanks |

Hello, I guess everyone is different with pain but I had mine done for the 3rd time a couple of months ago, taking out was a doddle, reinsertion was uncomfortable for a few mins. I also took painkillers 1hr before my appointment |

I won't lie, yes. I had my second one out back in October and it wasn't a nice experience
However when I had my first one out it wasn't so bad. Definitely take some painkillers beforehand.
