"Yeah we sometimes hold back a wink or message knowing it will probably go unseen or ignored x"
I think they can be seen as laziness but that's not how they are intended from me.... for my own part they are sent to say I've looked at your profile and I'm interested.
I do think a lot are ignored on the whole though |

I do send winks if I like the look of a profile. I’d hope the few I get mean the same, but often a follow up gets ignored.
So I assume not everyone sends them for that reason. |

Nearly all the winks we get come from people who clearly haven't even read our profile status let alone our profile lol.
I can understand their appeal for guys - so easy to just click and send. Not so much for females/couples who're deluged with them. |

Completely understand what you're saying. I quite often follow the wink up with a message about their profile or status and to introduce myself.
Perhaps I should just forget the wink and just go straight for a message |

I tend not to use them these days as, quite often, it can be difficult to understand exactly why someon has sent a wink.
Yes, it shows interest, but with so many people who fail to read profiles, as a recipient, I often find myself messaging to ask what caught their attention, only to be completely ignored.

To show interest and that we like the profile... and that perhaps we could all have some kind of connection. If people return them, then we'll send a message.
We also return them for the same reasons. |

I don’t like them…. Sorry I don’t see the point of them, I know peeps say it’s like showing interest but isn’t a message saying hi I like your profile? Xxxxxx |

"I don’t like them…. Sorry I don’t see the point of them, I know peeps say it’s like showing interest but isn’t a message saying hi I like your profile? Xxxxxx" problem with that is people getting deluged with messages and it slips off the 1st page or whatever and it's not read and goes in a mass delete. Caught between a rock and a hard place at times on here.

"Just wanted to know people's use for a wink we personally use them to show that we like what we see on the profile and have an interest what is everyone else's thoughts x"
That is the exact same resion why we wink. Test the waters before investing in a chat. Would then only start a chat if they wink back. |

Maybe some people do...
We celebrate every time we get a wink or a message, they're few and far between. |

I might wink you now and you’ll get excited like a kid at Christmas |

For me it's just to show I like the profile and their pics
If it's to someone local then it would also mean I'm interested if they are
If it's to someone from the south of England then it's just a compliment

Honestly I used to use the wink to say I’m interested but too many people over use it especially people who you know are not interested in you. Doesn’t make much sense to me
So now I just message hi what’s up or something along those lines |

I wink if someone catches my eye but there isnt much to go on in their profile to personalise a message. Its also useful to see if they visit your profile - if they allow it to be seen - and if they wink back its also a sign to message.
Most women seem to get inundated so winks rarely seem to get noticed imo |
