It's a state of mind in my opinion. I find it much more exciting and fulfilling with my gf, but before we met I still enjoyed the lifestyle. I don't think I could ever do vanilla lol |

I don’t see myself as a ‘swinger’ either, I’m on this website and go to clubs as they’re open to my lifestyle.
I used to go to Fetish Clubs but that was for the same reasons, a place to socialise and play some times. |

Yes you can but on here it very much depends who you ask as it's open to interpretation like everything else on Fab.
The dictionary definition of swinging however says:
a person who engages in group sex or the swapping of sexual partners.
It doesn't say 'a couple', it says a person.
The word 'swinger' has evolved. Either that or they need to change the name to Fab Swingers and Unicorns. (said very much tongue in cheek).
Worry less about the purity of the word and more on just having fun with like minded individuals

By definition, singles are probably not "swingers". However that doesn't mean that they don't belong here, there is a place for everyone within "the lifestyle".

I saw a forum thread a while back about "real" swingers.
A couple fervently arguing that only couple were swingers and singles couldn't possibly be "real" swingers.
Their arguments were robust, to say the least.
Turns out they met on Fab when each of them had a singles profile.
Zero sense of irony......

Interesting question OP. What happens when a single person joins a couple to play? Does s/he only then become a swinger?
Looking at this a slightly different way, what happens when one half of a couple goes off to play with their partner's consent, while the partner does not play? Is that person any different from a single person when their partner does not play or plays subsequently?
Does this mean all single people need to depart this site without delay as it's for swingers? (ok, I'm kidding there). Alternatively, do swingers and single folk on this site come under the umbrella of being libertine?
I'd say swinging is possibly more of a lifestyle. So, anyone who participates in the lifestyle is a swinger. |

I've swung as part of a couple but now I'm single I still consider myself to be a swinger."
Exactly so! I'm only here to meet couples, as threesomes are my 'speciality'. I've never needed to find women on here as I can find them in the normal course of life. |

Would there be less swinging if only couples swung? Just that i’ve often heard couples say its difficult to find a situation where 4 people all fancy each other, granted it does happen but it takes a while to achieve…..
I’d say single people negate a lot of the minefields that come with swinging couples: only one wanting to be sexually active, not having to take one for the team, some couples do not actually swing as a couple (hotwife dynamic) |

As I've never had a swinging partner and always played as a single male with couples who enjoy the company of another man or men, then I would say there is a place for singles of either sex.
If two singles meet, it could be argued that isn't swinging, but where else would you search for 'promiscuous' singles? There are many on here that have no intention of playing with couples and only play with other singles.
Personally I like to play with couples and single females, hotwives etc. So many different dynamics, group, gang, mfm... |
