But as to toys and implements, particular favourites are:

Hmm recently bought a matching set of canes and a fur flogger for sensation play to finish the set off.

Disposable ones should be used in one scene and then disposed of.
You shouldn't be using them on different people due to the infection risk.
As for what they can be used for, artistic cutting is what many use them for but in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing they can be used in body modifications, scarification etc.
