why do others like to joke or take the piss on other peoples post
so as said really why is it ok for the same people to constantly make jokes or take the piss at others expense why are they not stopped ??
no question is too silly everybodys is different but its always the same ''look at me '' clowns with there so called humor at the expense of others ..
we all like a good giggle but not at the expense of borderline bullying |

I have often felt the same way when I started a few threads that they seem to be a group of people that feel it's funny to make fun of people's feelings and preference.
That are so involved in there forum room click that they do not spare thought others.
Every one has a right to their own opinion but to make fun of others that are different to theirs IS bullying. |

Sometimes those jokes or sarcastic remarks are a way of diffusing what could be a harsh comment or an insult and maybe giving the poster a way of seeing how their comment looks and a chance to change how it comes across.
I must say though that there are a few posters who will pick on everything anyone says especially with newbies who are finding their feet with how the forum works, it's quite horrible and narcisstic when it's done like that to make themselves appear better than others. |

I can see how people can take it that way and i often wince. But is just some use any excuse to have a banter. I don't believe it's ever supposed to be directed at the op but i can totally see why it can be seen as hurtful. The forums are not really a good place to be if you are going through a confidence crisis. I know i avoid certain threads like the plague if I'm feeling a little low.
You can't control other people and it's hard to control your own reactions so probably best to avoid if you are not in a good place. |

I often make light of things or chuck in a funny comment, but that's just who I am and by no means do I mean to insult anyone. However I'm happy to go after the trolls... Does that make me a troll troll?  |

My very first post was just to say ‘hi’ and that I was a TV and Crossdresser. I then got a well liked TV saying I couldn’t be both (you can) and I needed to make up my mind. She then got back up by some of her mates to have a go at me.
My very first post ….welcome to the forums 
She got blocked and educated by myself that I decide what I am, not her or any other of her ignorant mates.
It’s the nature of the beast on these forums to get at times challenged or the piss taking, no matter what you say. If someone popular decides to hijack a thread there’s not much you can do, unfortunately. |

As painful as it is the reality is that the virtual world doesn't seem real to some people..so they live an alter ego lifestyle in it at an almost existential level making their rules up as they go along..unfortunately a lot of people then start believing they are right or that everyone else needs to agree /do what they want. They frequently are abusive or cruel online because its how they get their kicks.
The other reality is that of course they would never dream of doing anything like that away from their keyboards because they are frightened of their own shadow!
Sadly it will continue until we get back to a place where we start to go out more again to meet with real people..Places where someone can get a good slap from someone for being rude , disrespectful or just plain out of order..you won't stop the keyboard warriors but hopefully more of them might start going out a bit more !

It is just them trying to get some attention. You always get the twunt who'll think they're funny at the expense of others, like you'll always get the gigglers in the classroom that will encourage them. Forum is no different.  |

I agree. There is a joke and then there is bullying. I dont mind a joke... |
