"I thought you can't have hotel meets unless you're in the same household"
I'm unsure though think I've seen a few promoted. I've not had any meets. Perhaps they join the household for a fairly short period of time?  |

I just had my first hotel meet in a long, long time and was nervous about how it would go.
She booked a room at a Travelodge for herself plus a guest, without giving my name or details. On the day, she met me in the car park and used her keycard to let us in. There was nobody manning reception, so the staff did not even see me.
I'm not sure if this is typical. This particular Travelodge is outside the city and more likely to be hassle-free than busier hotels.
