If someone "winks" at your profile, do you automatically take that as a
"hello you sex god with that huge 10" cock come and get me"
hint or not ???
Ok I might of exaggerated about 10" its only ............ lol
But seriously, is a wink a sign of interest, do you always follow through etc

I take it that I've caught their eye, check out their profile and if I liked them too I'd wink back and potentially message thanking them for the wink and to start off a conversation.
Don't get many that aren't from booked though |

Yes it is a hint in subtly way. When i wink i send hint to have look of my profile and if you think we can go along wink back or message, and if someone visited my profile and no message or wink, i take hint of Not Interested |

I take it a sign of appreciation of my profile or pics, and I always reply whether or not I feel any attraction toward the person who winked. I deem it only polite to do so |

It's very difficult to understand why someone has winked rather than sending a message.
Whilst it can be taken as a sign of interest, I've often found that things never really progress beyond the wink.
If someone sends me a wink, I will usually respond with a message, to try to get a conversation going.
My message gets read and that's about it.
So, in my experience, winks are just a waste of time |

There are definatly two sides to this debate;
1. A wink is lazy
2. A wink is an ice breaker
Both have merits - on this site we men far out number the women and those who are more openly active are inundated with messages - so a cheeky "wink" might get their attention

It can be seen as "appreciation" for what you have read or seen
I quiet often message people with absolutely no ulterior motive (wrong requirements etc) other that say "well done thanks for such a good profile" etc

I see a wink as a I/we like the look of your profile, so I will look at their profile and I will wink back if I like their profile.
I would then expect them to then send a message to start a conversation |

I will very often message back if I get a wink and like the profile.
I think most winks are probably done in closing the page as I rarely get a reply.
Either a mistake or they've since changed their minds. |

If I send a wink It means I’m interested and inviting you to check me out. I do send messages but am quite apathetic with messaging lately. Can be a lot of effort being ignored ?? |

"We wink to show respect for the profile, an interest in the profile and potential ... no expectations but some aspiration. "
That's exactly how I've understood it. |

I struggle to understand how anyone can see a wink which is a feature of this site as lazy.
Its a sign of interest and I could imagine its better than putting in time to write a message. I have seen on other threads it can knock a person's confidence when told their not someone's type. I just think others should have a bit more empathy with that.
If a person's winks they have already made the first step to show you their intrested and would like to see if they have caught your attention. Its down to the other person to wink back or message. Ah well that's my look on it anyway xx |

Sometimes I’ll wink a profile if I don’t quite fit what they’re looking for and if I get a wink back then I’ll send a message.
If someone winks me or fabs my pics then I’ll have a look at their profile but I’d much rather receive a message even if it’s a simple hello. |

We’ll always wink back if we like the winkee’s profile. Think that signals an interest in both parts then in our opinion the initial winker can message us |

If we likes the look of the other couple we used to wink back, but 9 times out of 10 that's where it ends as they usually don't bother to message just go straight for the friend request.
Messages work for us, it's a shame the wink function can't be disabled. |

I think a wink shows interest, I always reply either I wink back to say I am interested so msg me or I will msg to start a convo or to be polite, so many people have no manners... they are free we are all adults and can take a “no thank you”
A wink can also show you are interested but understand people are busy/maybe bombarded with msgs so you’re showing interest and will msg if they wink bk & shows they would want a msg off you |

I always wink a nice pic or video...show appreciation for what I have seen...doesn't always mean that I am wanting to meet that person If some one winks at me I will check out their profile and take it from there!! |

Our profile clearly states we don't want winks so we ignore them and the senders go on our block list. |

To be honest I don't look at my winks very often and when I do I bulk delete them without even looking at who has winked me, the same goes for friend's invite. Xx |

We get fed up when we get a wink and return one only for them to totally ignore you..
It happens so much we have almost given up replying to winks but will always reply to a genuine message from anyone. |

I love to wink even at profiles I know wouldn't be interested in me. It's more of a compliment or a show of appreciation either for a good pic or profile. Just a bit of harmless fun and interaction. |
