Also, now that I think of it, a lot of people have asked for an ethnicity option on the search function of the site. Some people like the idea and some are opposed to it. Personally I think it would be great. |

It's obvious what an Indian woman is...but what are you after by the term "Asian"? Pakistani? Phillipino? Chinese? Thai? Mongolian? |

+1 - the odds of finding an Asian (Indian) couple on here are WORSE than those for single guys looking for single women. Would love to find one too, and we live in an area which has a high Asian/Indian population!!

Given the choice between Bangkok and Coventry, I think I'd rather go to Bangkok - although getting to Coventry is easier and cheaper, it doesn't quite have the same appeal  |

Does that sound offensive to you? I am really curious because I believe there is a lot of very genuine lack of awareness of what may constitute offensive labelling of (any) ethnicity rather than any deliberate act. |

Not offensive at all. But it just show how far the politically correct in this country can go just to avoid trouble and it make me laugh sometime. I've never seen in any other country a pakistany being called asian. Idian is idian. Pakistany is pakistany. Japanese is japanes. But here we are so worried of offending that we say asian or oriental

Ah I see where you are coming from - I would personally call a Pakistany just that, a Chinese just that and I would avoid the term Asian for that reason that I would not be sure if it received in the right way. Call me white or white European and I ll smile back xx |

I can see why people are called "Asian" in the same way as "White" people are called "Westerners" in the east. Basically it's because many people of similar first appearance could come from one of a number of countries, and people don't want to cause instant offence.
Line up some Phillipino, Chinese, Malaisian and Thai ladies and I certainly wouldn't be able to pin a country to any of them with any certainty.
Likewise if you call an Indian a "Pakistani" he'll be as offended as calling an Englishman "French". (well, nearly as offended!)
Of course the thing about Asia, is that it is so vast, that you will get the sub-groups within Asia (Indian sub-continent, "orientals" etc)
You also get the preferences come into play too, where some people will "go for" the "oriental" ladies but won't go anywhere near "Indian sub-continentals", which is why I asked the question at the start as to which kind of "Asians" the OP was referring to. |

I think whats suprising me most about this thread is the sudden racial connectations rising from it. Lets be straight if we can: When we say 'Black' or 'Asian' or 'Oriental' (or 'Far Eastern' if you like) or 'Middle Eastern' etc what do we really mean? Asia is a damn large continent for sure. You can be ultra picky and say something along the lines 'I want to meet Indian women' (or Pakistani etc) or do you really just find Asian ladies (so thats Indian, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thai, Cambodian etc etc) in particular attractive? When you ask for Asian women are you meaning those who are directly from Asia or of Asian origin? Its a minefield for anyone who's trying not to offend.
Personally, I love the look of all Asian women regardless of ethnic background. I neither think it is, nor have found it to be, racist to call an Asian woman Asian. None of the Asian/Black/Oriental people we have played with have taken it as racist either. Be proud of your origins, you're all original at the end of the day |

Well if people come from Asia then they are Asians. Unfortunately some people in this country use the term to describe only people who come from the Indian sub-continent (though such people would probably be a little unsure when it comes to some of the blond or red haired and blue eyed people I have seen in northern Pakistan or the distinctly Negroid looking people I have seen on the Andaman Islands).This is just stupid, but there you are, there are a lot of stupid people about. |

I think Japanese women are attractive.
I love Geisha, the make up and dress is stunning, though its not a sexual attraction for me.
I am more or less 100% certain that there are no Geisha on fab though. |
