My partner stopped the daily pill as it had side effects and since we have had to use condoms, obviously.
Any females have any recommendations on alternatives you use to the pill that doesnt/didnt effect you |

In Ireland from the 1950s onwards, a method of contraception that was approved by the then omnipotent, omniscient and ubiquitous Catholic church was the Billings method.
It involved using a vaginal thermometer and monitoring mucous secretion to determine when the female was at her most fertile in the monthly ovulation cycle.
Its reliability was poor, but because the church was obsessed with any form of artificial contraception it received the papal stamp of approval.
Frankly, I doubt if many couples would know what it is nowadays, but even in the 1970s, when I started dating, parents would drop hints about the Billings ovulation method, to use its full title.
If you prefer bareback, then a good quality coil is best, although it can produce an adverse reaction in rare circumstances.
Condoms are now of exceptionally high quality, but in Ireland, in living memory, condoms were banned; this resulted in women having to travel by train from Dublin to Newry or Belfast to purchase them.
A famous train campaigner was Nell McCafferty, although interestingly, she was a lesbian.
The likes of Archbishop John Charles McQuaid had such a grip on the Irish government that some leading members of Dail Eireann publicly proclaimed themselves to be Catholic first and politicians second.
All forms of contraception are now legally obtainable in the Republic of Ireland. |

I got the snip.
Best contraception going as there are no side effects or worries about pregnancy.
Obviously, with casual encounters you still need to wrap up though, but when with your long term, it's great. |

Vasectomy. That won't cause her any side effects. |

Pills didn't work well with Mrs, so I just had vasectomy on Thursday and currently recovering from it. Will still use condoms with other people but feelling wife without it is amazing. |

There’s a book called’Taking charge of your fertility’ by Toni Wescler. It’s the most natural way if contraceptive pills and coils have adverse effects. It will also teach you how your body works. |

"Depo worked great from me. I was very fertile and got pregnant on both the cap and the coil (the latter due to incorrect placement by the dr)."
Any effects? I know it can take upto 1 year to go back to being fertile after you finish using depo |

The implant is most effective. All hormonal contraceptives give me quite bad negative side effects. I'm back on the pill again now and just have to put up with the side effects, but I have taken breaks from contraceptives in the past and relied on the pull out method which is almost as effective as condoms but only if you do it perfectly every time, and there are some common mistakes.
