Been a long time since I enjoyed the club scene though, so usually enjoy on difm. Remember some cracking nights at Cream Liverpool when Paul Oakenfold played. "Never thought there would be so many on here loving the harder music genres "

Music has got really light recently. With producers asked to tone down there pop music so as to make it more appealing to a wider younger audience .

I do not listen to that and at the moment prefer the cyberpunk genres (Midtempo, darksynthwave and dark techno) and old school trance (I know not exactly harder).

Pal there’s no scene over here for the over 30’s crowd that where brought up on the classics of the 90’s and early 00’s

I usually hit luminosity in Amsterdam every summer but the crowed at that has change from when I went to it first 7 years ago now I think ! ?

But it will be interesting so see what pops up over the next few months now that pesky flu is getting under control !

The music promoters lost there bollox over covid so there finding it hard fo get back on there feet !

Anyway chin up true dance heads

the worst is over with it !!!!

can only get better from here out

Yep yep yep... All the way.

Been raving 20 years, no signs of slowing down, although I do it sober nowadays.

All over the world, Miami, Ibiza, Berlin, London, all over Europe...

Absolutely love it.

Techno, house, DnB, garage... Love it all.

Need to get myself some 1210s. Got some lovely speakers and a beautiful amp, but need turntables for my records. eBay here I come.

There is call for some of the famous techno places to get UNESCO world heritage stays. Well according to mixmag anyway.

"My head still lives on the 90s. Italian piano led house synthy stuff thru euro & trance.

Still got my decks & mixer but well out of practice now.

Fantazia, Gatecrasher, Slinky, Euphoria & Deep Heat series all in the music collection here."

Classic euphoria 1 and 2 were awesome albums and the builds to the stove did perfectly like you were listening to one long song.

Does Ibiza live up to all the hype it gets? Would you suggest it as a vacation destination?

When Printworks in London re-opened earlier in the year there first event was called Redacted - no cameras allowed (they put stickers over everyones lenses to make the point - and you din't know who was performing (though you knew the gennre) - to try and go back to how it was - it was fun and almost no phones - but seems like a 1 off so far

Went to Cream reunion last year but was nothing like it used to be. Apart from feeling very old, everyone was super done up and it was a sea of phones and flashes every time a classic came on. It didn't look like anyone was actually letting loose and enjoying them selves.

Where was all the tops off, sweaty bodies everywhere, people gurning and being your new best friend?

Rave scene died in the mid 2000’s for me. The introduction of camera phones changed the dynamic. Raving was about letting loose, but all of a sudden it was posted on socials.

Cant beat the 90’s: Fantazia, Helter Skelter, Jungle Fever, Technodrome, Cream, Slinky, Bowlers, Homelands, Global Gathering, Ultra, One Nation and so on…..

You've really hit the nail on the head there when you mention camera phones. There's too much ego in clubs now and no one let's loose. I was a little too young to be a part of the rave scene in the early 90s (I listened to the music though) but I'm so grateful I at least got to attend the raw, sweaty, everyone unified clubs of the late 90s.

In Berghain they ban phones which I think is a master stroke

I'd completely agree with that.

I think rave culture and everything that came from it is one of the biggest cultural phenomenons ever and its sorely underrepresented

Yep, as old giffers a bit of trance enables us to pretend we're still 26.

Hoping for a trip to Torture Garden this year...clubbing and spanking; what's not to like?

Huge fan of techno, hardhouse, trance.

Still got loads of good tunes on cassette!

Carl Cox is my all time fav, followed by Sven Vath. Used to go to Gatecrasher, Tall trees, Sugarshack, Bowlers, Back to Basics, Sankeys Soap. Should have gone to Cream but never made it.

Hopefully going to the Burning Man next year. Aiggghhhhhh
