I did 8.5 years by choice and was absolutely great - after the first six months 
I've learned how to use the sexual energy in life so did more and achieved more in those years compared to before or after!
I've met a few people over the years who have their sex lives take over from actual life ... not so sure that's a good thing? |

Sex is everything and nothing to me.
For want of a better expression.
I love it, I express myself with it, I connect with it etc etc.
But it's not important, not really.
I can live without it.
I did four years without, then a three months thing with someone, I got out and went another four years without. |

In spite of me letting people know what I want or how to do what I like, they invariably don't listen and I never seem to enjoy it as much as the other person has. I've pretty much given it up. Having sex for me ( mrs) is an expression of love..something missing if its not happening..sex with anyone other than my husband is strictly just sex. That I can live without quite happily. |

Yes up to a point. I went without it for about 10 years I got fed up of bad sex and getting booty calls from guys I liked at the time and I was dumb enough to always go meet them but the sex was normally meh as it was just a booty call for them so once they got their end away they didn't care about anything else and I just gave up for a while and all of a sudden it was years on and I suddenly realised I really missed sex .A friend told me about here as I wasn't interested in dating sites and here I am .And ice been lucky and have had some great sex since I joined here.
So yes I was happy enough for those years without it but would I do it again the honest answer is no given a choice no I wouldn't I enjoy sex too much to do that again. |

The question was can you be happy without sex. Doesn't mean there's no interest in it but just that it's not the be all and end all of happiness. I'd see my life as being pretty crap if my happiness depended solely on sex. |

I think sex is far more than just a physical act. For me it fills my need to feel wanted, desired, to be intimate and to give and receive affection. Its a sure fire way to get those things. So while I could live without sex, sooner or later I'd become pretty miserable without affection. |

I wouldn’t say I am not interested in sex, unfortunately over the last few years, I haven’t had sex, not having anyone interested in me in that way has ensured I have switched off from needing it. I am able to be happy and carry on fully functioning without it. |

I can and have gone without sex for long periods, but it makes me very unhappy. Good sex, preferably within a relationship (random is good but better with someone you grow with), makes me feel fulfilled physically and emotionally. |
