Thoughts on this????

So a question has just been put to me!!!

If a woman approached u in a bar and told u that her husband was infertile and they couldn't afford IVF and would u consider having sex with her and trying to get her pregnant. You would not have anything to do with the child or the upbringing or money you would literally just been helping to conceive.. would u do it???

I thought long and hard about this and I'm not sure I could as being a dad is very important to me and I'm not sure I could father a child and not be part of its life. But the fact that it could be that couples only hope to have children made that choice difficult as id wanna help.

So what would u do whats your thoughts on this

I'd be a disappointment for them as I've had the snip. To turn it around slightly...if this was you, would you tell them?

As would I. But I suspect there would be as many that wouldn't care. Which also goes for your op.

We would think it's a scam and say don't even continue the conversation.

Given sperm donor systems exist, it's clearly absurd.

Agree.

No one seriously looking for a sperm donor would approach random men in a bar. There are specific websites you can use for this.

Oof, no chance. For me, fatherhood isn't something I could possibly do on a whim, and there's no chance of me ever not being in my childrens' lives.

I'd advise them to speak to their doctor about sperm donation banks and wish them a jolly nice evening.

Isn't there a song about this that makes it seem all romantic and worthy?

Nobody in their right mind would deliberately approach a random man about who they know nothing, to father a child. Hereditary illness, genetic problems, stis are just a few of my initial thoughts. You'd have no idea if he was actually able to be a father, what's in his background, personality type.

I know children are conceived on one night stands but that's hardly a considered choice either.

Can’t see why this would ever be a true scenario unless it’s due to a scam or fantasy. Spermicide banks are available for couples like this and offer proper support for the parents and total discretion for the donor.

I'd stay well away,

Things could go wrong and they could start asking you for money or involvement later down the line.

My FWB was desperate for a child and we discussed having a child together. It sounded great in theory, but the practicalities brought us back to earth, or at least brought me back very quickly! he is expecting now with his main relationship after years and years of trying, so daydream over for me.

If I were a guy... no, I’d never do that. And as PP have said, there are channels in place for sperm donation etc.

I conceived by child via sperm donation via a legitimate sperm bank and it only cost under £400, if they couldn't afford that then there's no way they could afford to pay for maternity clothing, baby clothing, cot, pram etc.

An a random guy in a pub legally has parental rights to the child, that's paying for and access to. but through a sperm bank they don't have any responsibility to the child.

I am amazed when I read articles saying women have met some bloke off Facebook who has super sperm and impregnated hundreds of women, no need for it.

Is the gay male best friend/ turkey baster scenario still a thing?

I'm not making light of the situation that couples who really want children but are unable to find themselves in, but there has to be a better way than a random stranger.

Not going to name the club but a well known one had a particular couple attending every week where it turned out swinging was not thier desire but using irresponsible guys bare for conceiving purposes.

Think it was a boy. White with Chinese eyes tattoos and a black cock
