Look for beauty salons in your area that offer that service. Call or go in and speak to the beautician. They can then advise you best.
The place i used to go to, the lady would ask how i wanted my wax etc. |

Most salons now would offer anything from a bikini wax to Brazilian or a Hollywood. Just have a look and maybe check some reviews. The first time it's a bit weird laying there in the nip, but when you think about it that's their job and they see other peoples bits all day long. ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

Find a good salon that offers all variations of waxing, i was surprised it didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would, results are so much better than shaving, I wouldn’t use anything else now |

Find yourself an intimate wax specialist.
I’ve had it done by a generalised beautician and it was significantly more painful than the current lady I use who specialises in intimate waxing.
She uses the fancy wax that you prep the skin with an oil (not powder) and it means it adheres to the hair but not your skin so less painful.
Tell them it’s your first time and they’ll work from the outside in so you can stop if you reach your limit. You can also take ibuprofen / paracetamol 30 minutes before.
I honestly wouldn’t go back to shaving ever! |

She charges...
£15 bikini line
£25 Brazilian
£30 Hollywood
I get the Hollywood and it tends to be every 6-8 weeks once you get into a cycle. The first few times you want to go a bit sooner to get them all growing at a similar point!
Had my first one after lockdown the other week. I’ll go back in 4 weeks then back to every 8 weeks ish |

Agreed on prices! The place i used to go to charged £28 for a hollywood. I got fed up of going to the salon so i bought my own wax pot and do it myself at home now. |

I have a Hollywood. My advice is go to someone that uses hot wax (no strips) it’s much better.
It’s obviously a little uncomfortable but the best feeling once it’s done.
Also it will take a couple of goes to get really smooth as shaving the hairs grow at different rates. |

100% this - definitely hot wax only! No strips! ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

"I normally just shave but looking for advice about waxing.
Was thinking getting a Hollywood but don't know how to go about it "
Get a recommendation from someone who has it done regularly. Good waxing 100% depends on the skill of the waxer. Good luck. |

"What's the difference between strips and hot wax x"
Strips: they put the wax on then use a cloth or tough paper strip to pull off the wax and hairs. Its good for bigger areas like legs.
Hot wax or strip free wax: they put the wax on and the wax itself ‘hardens’ then that is pulled off taking the hair with it. Its good for smaller/delicate areas like genitals or face.
