BBC wanted but no Asians and no Africans; I don't mean to be racist. You can't make this shit up!

If you saw this on a profile and you were black (of whatever extraction, lineage or nationality), what would be your thoughts. For the purposes of this post, I have deliberately excluded the Asian question for another day. Feel free to mix it up.

We've had messages and winks from profiles that say no Blacks. Very confusing

I kind of have seen profiles saying no blacks but then the next line invites black women.

Well leaving out the "is it racist" question in general, I'd just think they were utter morons.

We don't reply to them. Check out the T-shirts on eBay "More Blacks, More Dogs, More Irish". What a great T-shirt

I think I've seen that same profile this morning.

It struck me as odd, too

Bit there again you see profiles stating "Not looking for single men" then inviting men and women to get in touch....

Is it racist ? Does preference = prejudice, I’d so everyone on here is a racist

But agree it’s unnecessary to say that and can cause offence

Wrong, how can it be racist if they want a black male, there just choosy about where that male is from. Would it be racist for me to say no Scots?

I Don't find that racis at all , is people choice to meet who they want to meet , they have their own taste and atraction so otheirs if this ones match their boxes.

I will not say people are trasphobic just because they wont meet me . I myself also ha ve my own preferences and is something is totally settled .

Because this is a adult site we need to have also in count that people choices are to be respected and not project them as second interpretations.

When people read profifes is very clear to most of us what each profile are into and what they are looking for and in my simple opinion just need to be respected

I actually find their use of BBC as a catch all term for black males be more racist than a preference for a specific nationality.

But, their exclusion of African males makes me wonder what they are actually looking for? Caribbean descent? Men born in the U.K.?

I could understand liking the accent of men from the Caribbean as I have a very dear friend from one of the islands and his voice is *chefs kiss*. But tbh the phrasing of what they’ve written makes me think it is unlikely to be that.

I can honestly say though it’s something I’ve never seen on anyone’s profile (whereas the no Blacks no Asians all encompassing blanket statement is sadly far too common and I’ve seen it many times).

But will how they express that preference be telling of if they are or aren’t transphobic?

People is free to choose who they whant to intimate with under their preferences , everyone here have their own preferences and is completely acceptable , just because this is an adult site doesn't mean people is here to shag with everybody independently who they are , referring to this thread and the question in cause made by the OP i doesn't see at all racism but only the preference of someone who specifically chooses with who whant to intimate with

Yes i read and very carefully is true , and like i mentioned in my opinion is not racist , i really don't believe any white man or any other skin color apart from black would be offend by the words of your post in this thread , as is a choice of that profile to choose by their own choice their preferences

Because people have preferences in their intimacy don't mean they are racist

I completely agree having a sexual preference doesn’t make someone racist.

BUT, I do actually find the wording highlighted by the OP to be problematic.

The use of terms like “no Blacks, no Asians” has hugely racist undertones. Granted this is a slightly modified version of that, but given the history of signs saying “no coloureds, no West Indians” I think it’s fair to say it’s not an appropriate way to express your sexual preferences.

It is a strange one, am british born with Nigerian heritage but I am still AFRICAN. Without being obtuse I know what they are getting at. They are just trying to sugar coat it, what they are trying to say is no Black men are born within Africa and carry some form of accent

Being publicly vocal about excluding anyone due to where they are from is disgusting and will justly be subject to controversy.

Does someone really need to say something like that? Cant they just choose to ignore messages from people they are not attracted to instead of hurting someone?

it’s not my profile it’s theirs it’s not my place to make a judgment on if they are racist perhaps it’s a good way for them to filter messages from people they don’t want to meet up with for me it’s a preference maybe badly worded but still a preference

I don't think anyone's saying people should be denied the right to express a preference, it's what might be motivating the preference and how it's phrased.

Yes, people like pretending there's no difference between these two positions. When "it's efficient" to explicitly tell entire racial demographics they aren't welcome, that's a balance point that should be seen to be inappropriate. Not everyone does though, and genuine innocence / naivety is very likely. Hopefully people pointing these things out can slowly educate people though.

Ahh, now all that remains is the small matter of crossing over from Liverpool. Is that how to get to Kilkenny?
