What is the biggest lie (that you would now be wiiling to admit to) that you have ever told at a job interview; qualifications or relevant experience you never obtained; educational institutions you never attended; unexplained gaps in your CV that were fraudulently filled to provide continuity; etc.
How far have you carried the suggestion that, "you should fake it, until you make it."
Several years ago I applied for a job for which I had no relevant qualifications, and applied by an alternative method (a personal letter to the CEO) that obviated the necessity to provide an accurate CV.
By the time the business had caught onto my deceit I had proven my worth as a highly competent, reliable employee who integrated successfully into the specific corporate culture. I had successfully faked it! |

"Most jobs I've had instant dismissal would ensue on discovery of a fake cv. I have lied at interview though, I frequently claimed to want to work for an organisation I really didn't."

Best not to lie as lies quite often are found out. Had a young guy once who was given a post, took HR 5 months to figure out he had lied about having GCSE's, he did but not at the grade HR 'deemed acceptable'. However he had proved himself and I didnt want to lose him so we had a meeting where he confessed about the GCSE (fib) but said he had a NVQ2. I persuaded HR to accept that given he had been doing the job for 5m months. I was happy, he was happy, but when HR later asked for NVQ2 proof it wasnt forthcoming. Yup he had lied again and was out the door. Thing is if he had not lied the 2nd time I'd have kept him on |

Never lied at an interview, cuz I wouldn't be willing to embarrass myself and make myself look a bellend, if I had to do something that I actually couldn't do...but that's just me |

"Biggest lie I've told is telling them I want the job.
Me too
Sometimes you just need a job.. any job. Lol "
Yep. I once got a job I really, really didn't want but it didn't half concentrate my mind on getting one I did want. |
