I've had mine for over 10 years. I have slightly damaged my teeth but it's because I had a bad habit of messing with it.
They are overrated if you're getting it for giving increased pleasure or something like that. They don't make a difference really. I'd recommend it as a piercing but only because it looks nice and I enjoyed having mine. |

Yes they damage enamel, but that depends on how far forward or back you’ve had yours pierced.
I had my tongue pierced at 19 and kept it until 25, I’m now 27.
I went to a new dentist not long after taking my piercing out as my old one closed and she could tell I had a tongue piercing as it had damaged the back of my lower front teeth.
Alongside that, I’ve had boyfriends etc who have never stated that it enhanced anything!
For me I got sick of swallowing the ball and clacking it against my teeth as a habit! |

I (Mr Brum) had mine done for many years. Only took it out because I had a senior management job and it was a issue for a well known retailer board member.
Never had any issues with it apart of it getting stuck with toffee etc.
The ladies always liked it during oral, more so if I sucked an ice cube first. |

I (Mrs) have two tongue studs. I love them but they have damaged my teeth slightly.
Plenty of men get excited about the thought of them but I've never been told they add anything extra to oral in actuality. When I've gone down on girls with a clit piercing they do clink on it which can be good or distracting depending on what sensations she likes

Had mine 30 years or so, never chipped my tooth, make sure the bar is downsized when possible that will reduce the liklihood.
Also stretched mine up a couple of sizes....now that was grim!!! |

Agreed with the last poster - keep the bar short.
I also just have plastic balls on my two tongue piercings most of the time and switch to steel when going out.
Generally I don't think a standard tongue piercing physically enhances anything, it just looks good and psychologically does something.
One of my piercings is 5mm so the bar is big and heavy which is different. Both sexes enjoy it. |

An old FwB of mine had her tongue pierced and had different attachments.
It was a mixed bag in relation to blowjobs....some attachments felt great, some not so great and some not really noticeable. |

Had one for about 20 years took it out last year cause it was making my tongue ache think it was resting on a nerve or tendon.
They don't add much in the way of oral my oh doesn't miss it and I damaged my tooth by playing with it a lot I also took it out cause I was biting it in my sleep  |
