How much chatting time or messaging you need to do before you comfortable meet for social?

Like to chat a bit to be sure we know what we are planning to do and both going to enjoy it. I find the chat bitquite enjoyable but better if there is a prospect of actually doing it.

I find that if there is no meet within a few days then it never happens but different at the moment of course

It varies a lot for me. I only chatted with my FWB for a day before we met for a social. On the other hand, Covid has meant that I’ve been talking to a couple of people for a year or more without being able to have a social. Before Covid, it normally depended on when diaries could be matched up.

I hate chatting online, so I'm looking to arrange a social within the first couple of messages.

Different strokes for different folks though

Even to meet for a social I reckon it takes a while to build trust and confidence that it wouldn't be a disaster, I would be suspicious if it happened within a couple of messages or inside a few weeks. Plenty of time to get to know people lately although I also wonder just how patient and bothered people are when no chance of meeting soon.

In the distant past before the Zombie Apocalypse if I was interested in someone I prefered to meet for a social sooner rather than later

Endless chat with randoms doesn't float my boat.

Covid changed the goalposts rather.

Can really depend on the person and how the conversation flows to how soon I feel happy to meet socially

We prefer to arrange a social quite quickly if and when we find someone interesting.

We have little time or interest in message ping-pong, as we believe that we'll all only know if we're on the same page when we meet in person.

Oh I like to have a social quite quickly as messaging is an awful form of communication! The only way to actually find out if you get on with someone is to meet them in person I find

We don't bother with long chats as we've found that you often don't get to know the real person.

We prefer to have a face to face meet where there is less chance of encountering timewasters.
