Having been an active single guy for years, I know you have to put the hard miles in to chat with single ladies and couples to prove you are genuine and build that great opportunity to meet
I also know most genuine singles and couples are not meeting atm ( and rightly so ) - so genuine chat seems to have dried up
But , is anyone else finding that the only genuine chat from single women and couples therefore seems to be from new profiles who are clearly single guys, so desperate to get any chat fun, they pretend to be women or couples just to engage is some kind of chat
Starting to think Fab needs to be paused until lockdown and vaccines allows meets, and all the REAL people come back and engage |

What do you mean “genuine chat”? You say the profiles are fake, so how is the chat genuine?
Are you looking for sex chat or getting-to-know-you chat? Because if it’s sex chat I think you’ll find that most women aren’t all that interested in it with people they don’t know. In the forums it seems to always be men posting looking for sex chat. So if you’re trying to have that kind of chat then yes, it probably will only be men pretending to be women/couples who will be interested. If you’re trying to get to know people, fake profiles won’t engage with you for long. |

Why should fab be paused just because you aren’t getting what you want 
I’m still having plenty of chats on it although admittedly before covid I hardly used it for that.
Weird you’d want it pausing or stopping for other people lol |

I'm not finding it any different at the moment...vast majority fall into the "hi, how are you" camp, then there's a few that go straight in with porn speak, then there are some you can have a decent conversation with and finally the sought-after few that read profiles before messaging. |

Not sure there is an art to 'chat' - isn't it just banalities?
The art of conversation - yes that is in low supply on here.
The way to pause fab is quite simple though - just hide your profile and pop off. Return sporadically to see if the calibre is picking up.

I've never been a fan of chat with randoms.
Not got the time or inclination for all the "How are you/what are you up to/how are you finding the site" bla bla blah bollocks.
After three years I can tell from a first message if you are someone I'm interested in talking to.
99 percent of the time it's a no.

There does seem to be a lot of new profiles who have stumbled across the site and joined (I guess) purely because of lockdown boredom and although they may initially chat enthusiastically, they haven't got a clue what they want; not being in a position to act on anything either, or finding others aren't prepared to, they seem to hang around in a lost limbo and understandably get quickly jaded.
It can be hard to find meaningful chat with new contacts, with a big hybernation going on, it's not impossible however.
Take a break OP, if it's not working for you at the moment. Come back refreshed when you feel your time is right.
