Hull

Sleep for me is a real pain.

Last November I was made redundant from my night job. I'd been caretaker from March Lockdown (after 3.5 years on Nights) till my workplace reopened August 3rd when we resumed opening for 2-3 days a week.

With other night roles in my career, I spent a total of 32 years out of 47 in Night jobs.

Now signed off from work on medical grounds, my body clock is so messed up. My GP reckons it will take me a year for me to adjust back to "days" & sleeping fully at night.

Slept so much better since lockdown, working shifts and the neighbours so quiet now, except for first lockdown when everyone was partying in their gardens, seemed like I was the only person working

Same here, worst part is when you're tossing /turning and you know you shouldn't look at the time on your phone, but see it in the corner of your eye as you turn over, when that happens I pretty much kiss sleep goodbye ??

I've been struggling for weeks.

Usually have no problem sleeping even when I'm working nights but since Xmas I just can't get into a decent routine. I fall asleep early then wake up early.hours and cant go back to sleep. Back on day shift in a few days..im gonna be shattered I can see it now!

The joys of shift work

Lack of normal physical and mental stimulation gets to you then the added stress of nothing to look forward to means the normal cycle of life is out of sync
