We have the basic understanding of what a polyamorous relationship is but we was hoping that you wonderful people could tell us more about it so we understand more.

It may help if you include what you understand polyamory to be so that people can target their advice instead of covering ground you are already aware of.
Being poly is not an open relationship, and an open relationship is not being poly. Jealousy and lies are two of the main reasons poly relationships fail, so you need to build upon a strong foundation.
What are you both looking to get out of it?
Are you looking to form a thruple, or more each of you can have additional partners?
Do you have children? If so will this relationship take them into account? If you don’t are you planning to?
Are you married/how long have you been together? |

We understand that it is adding another person into the relationship but unclear on a couple of things.
Does the 3rd person date both of the couple or just one of them?
We understand there needs to be rules, but what type of rules have people had?
How does everything happen with the dating the third person?
Not sure if we have any other questions until we understand in more depth x |
