Do you think some people do this even in the nicest of threads ? I am having to learn to let a lot go over my head I find .

somewhere

Yes some people do it just to cause chaos and to annoy people

If it gets personal you can report them otherwise ignore so you dont get a forum ban

Lots do this sadly and it can make for some bad feelings on the forums.

Some will try to excuse it as banter and others simply enjoy triggering people, quite pathetic really.

You shouldn't have to but learn to walk away from it if you can.

Ach, a tale as old as time

I will stand my ground so far and then think 'sod this'

I have neither the energy nor the inclination to be drawn into a public disagreement with someone who means nothing to me, usually over something trivial

It really isn't worth the investment

Indeed I’ve found it to be very true and just because they enjoy the shit it brings.

To be fair the admin/mods have helped me enjoy the forums much more by putting me on the naughty step many many times and now I just stay away from certain posters and I enjoy the forums much more.

People who do this usually thrive on attention so dont play thier game and give them none. Ignoring them is usually more harmful and upsetting for them.

I scroll past threads that are made by certain posters as I know it’s probably not going to end well.

Hehehe! There are some ‘characters’ in here always feeling the need to chip in something irrelevant waiting to see who bites...... When you recognise them, it’s more fun to bait them. Don’t get mad, get even......

This is one of the reasons I've found it difficult to find enjoyment chatting in the forum.

Personally I don't need to mind read into wind ups or undercover nastiness

... but that's like tormenting a cat, then wondering why you get scratched

As someone up there ^ said, don't give them their oxygen

They'll soon get fed up

Yes. A lot more lately I’ve noticed than when we used to be on years ago. Boredom I suppose. If they aren’t correcting spellings and grammar they pick holes in everything asked especially when it was said light heartedly or as a fantasy.
