What surprises me is some people are openly looking for a meet in their profile status. I am just reporting anyone I see doing that.

Maybe a bit of code required by the site owners to search for keywords in status. "Looking" and "meet" and "today" or "now". Then, a simple "delete account" button for admin to use...

It’s not just been new members tho. There’s been established forumites with accounts that are years old openly asking people to meet. I think I’ve seen it 3 times now where someone supposedly ‘experienced’ on fab has posted a thread about ‘meeting’ now.

What’s hilarious is that all of them, without exception, immediately start back tracking when they’re challenged. ‘Oh it was just for a socially distanced meet’ was a recent good one....... 3 posts after trying to arrange a spit roasting with a VWE male

If you’re going to try and lie your way out of the shit, at least remember what you’ve written down 3 minutes earlier

Yes I get it... After 9 months and the dark winter time the majority of us are missing the various pleasures we seek from the site. It's frustrating.

It’s not just the pandemic it’s idiots who have heard about the site and think all they have to do is say they are free and there will be a que of ladies lining up with their knickers down .. it’s frustrating and sad that this is where the site is nowadays .. don’t let it get you down op just delete those messages and move on I’m sure you will find the diamonds you are seeking

I think it's difficult for some people to grasp that they can't meet a single person from here for a quick hook up, yet you can go to the crowded retail parks and spend as much time as you like there.

Same as in the bingo halls and casinos - you can eat, drink and meet up with friends. The rules are not well thought out.

What are your alternatives? Close retail / bingo but allow random hookups? There is no perfect solution here and whilst you think the rules haven't been thought out, they are based on science and understanding of transmission that you and I have absolutely no understanding of.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the site's admins hate me by now - in the week leading up to Christmas I personally reported between 250-300 profiles (mostly single males) which had statuses openly seeking meets...

....the really scary part was that a lot of them were in areas which were already in Tier 4, or about to be - worryingly, despite having been reported, I saw a number of the same ones on successive days still actively seeking meets...

Yet again I disagree with you. It goes without saying that nobody is meeting now. It shouldn’t need spelling out to people who use the site. They’re supposed to be adults. I’ve not changed my profile for covid because I shouldn’t need to. If I do get people asking for a meet I advise them to stop trying to arrange meets during covid 1) because it’s illegal still and 2) there are plenty of other people on here who will quite happily report folk. It’s usually taken in good spirit too and I never hear from them again.

They are so pathologically selfish that they don't care that their actions will lead to the death of other people.

It's that simple.

They would rather let other people die than be even slightly inconvenienced.

I personally have started taking people's attitudes to the pandemic as an insight into their sexual health practices. You do realise that all that effort was in vain right?

All fab do is block you from seeing the users you report. Those using fab status to arrange meets and web cam veris to leave detailed physical meet feedback e.g. amazing hotel group session etc are left free to continue meeting and potentially spreading the virus.

Enough of us either have friends who can still see the reported profile after been blocked from it or in the case of couples account they can still see the offending profile via their singles account.

The cat has been out of the bag on this for a while now and many posters are finally speaking up.

It's funny though some of the most ardent rule following posters who will destroy someone for evening thinking of meeting an extra person at Xmas (more than was allowed) won't dare say a word against fab on the issue of turning a blind eye to all the meets. Likely for fear of been banned themselves.

Sadly many of these users still meeting are also site supporters so its not in fabs interest to loose the revenue.

You can put in any postcode in the country and search the local status updates and find a minimum of 10 users looking to meet now. In urban areas the number is far higher.

The sad truth we have come to realise is the people against physical meeting on fab are in the minority

I’m a healthcare professional too but think we need to get past calling people idiots and looking at why they believe what they do. 70000 people have died from this virus so it’s effect is beyond debate, but why do some people not get it? Are they just mega-horny and not actually intending to meet or is there something else? I think it’s important. Calling a significant proportion of the public stupid isn’t very progressive.

Very surprised admin have not blocked this post, they did mine a few weeks ago.

I don’t know about anyone else, but if someone messages me even hinting about a meet I report them, but they do not get deleted, they are just blocked from you. I wouldn’t meet anyone in the future who has been actively looking for meets in all this, if they don’t care about their health now then it gives me a nasty linger about them.

To be honest why is it any different meeting someone off here to all the dating sites that are still open and promoting socialy distance meeting even tv dating programs are still working and people are meeting for dates, on naked atraction they were hugging that's not very socialy distance then you get all the non dating people having house parties ect how many on here met up indoors with others over Xmas even if they werent allowed, who popped round to family and friends to drop presents off and ended up going in for a brew, no one breaking the rules is right but there won't be many people left in the UK who can truly say they have stuck to the rules 100%

I have been in isolation for 298 days. I haven't left the house except for groceries, innoculations and post since March. No socialising, no physical contact, nothing.

Because it's the right thing to do.

Without wanting to go into too many specifics, it's exceptionally difficult to leave my home without immediately walking face-first into a flock of maskless twats aggressively refusing to stay two metres away.

Since I don't drive, I'm limited to where I can walk in the very small hours when there are fewer rabid coronazombies trying to murder me.

Unfortunately, since almost all of the people who'd want to see me live a two-hour-plus train ride away, it's alone time for me until the pandemic is over.

I think you're either being incredibly generous or incredibly naive. We're in a 6 week lockdown here. None of the things you mention are allowed. No household mixing is allowed outwith the permitted bubbles. There is an 8pm - 6am curfew. None of that is confusing or difficult to understand. And yet still people are looking to meet and holding parties and get togethers.

Only one problem with that is what if those words are used in a different context like for example “looking forward to today” that doesn’t even suggest that you are looking for a meet but your account would be deleted

So good to see more and more people feeling brave enough to post about this issue now.

Fab need to remove the status update feature from ALL users users until this pandemic is under control.

If Fab Admin remove Status Updates as an option then in one fell swoop they will remove the option for those looking to meet ability to advertise for meets to the people geographically local to them.

I challenge anyone to put almost any UK postcode as your location then check the local updates (relevant to the current postcode) to see all the sex meet requests. By doing that you will soon see just how widespread and the sheer number of people using this facility to meet.

I understand many of your frustrations as a key worker who's worked throughout 2020 I have seen a lot of damaged caused by the lockdowns right at the coal face. I've worked with people to get them back into employment quickly so they don't get into to much debt and risk the family home after their business folded. I have worked with foodbanks and our social care team to get emergency food to the most isolated and vulnerable and sadly a number of clients on our caseloads have committed suicide this year due to just not been able to cope with 2020 and all this pandemic has meant.

Many of the people who are meeting on fab for casual sex don't need to do this and I am sorry but if the site takes action to remove status updates it will quickly remove people's ability to advertise for local meets. Will its stop them all no. Will it stop a lot very probably and its the right thing to do.

The numbers of daily positive tests and death rates are frightening. The numbers now are worse the the height of the first wave. Almost a thousand have died each day for 2 days and 55,000 new infections per day. The NHS can only take so much.

If we don't pull together as a country I genuinely think the Jan and Feb 2021 will enact a terrible toll.

55,000 new cases today, nearly 1000 deaths NHS on its knees, do these people who have "had enough" think that everybody WORLDWIDE havnt had enough? The Chinese government seemed to do very well. I think the swedes did too, or whichever Scandinavian country it was that didn't lockdown whatsoever. So do all the third world countries that should be getting absolutely decimated by this virus due to lower standards in health care services, medical staff and sanitation.

With more and more people hopefully getting the vaccine over the next few months it will be interesting to see how attitudes change. Will people be more willing to meet but only if they can see proof of vaccination. The problem is vaccinated people can still spread it. I gave up myself, especially after some formers felt I should get a life and mind my own business which was charming I thought. But in the name of research I have just reported two profiles with explicit statuses indicating they've either just had a meet or they're after one. Will wait and see what happens I guess.

It appears not a lot - as I posted earlier on this thread, and also on a similar one, quite a few profiles I've reported in the past fortnight have remained online or re-appeared with identical or similar statuses, still clearly seeking meets...

Not necessarily - you and they have simply been mutually blocked from viewing each other; as above, it doesn't mean they've been removed...

....I can no longer view the vast majority of those I've reported - though there are some where I still can, which suggests that the system's not working as it should...

Just scanned through the 'Men Online Now' pages, and seen about a dozen statuses openly seeking meets - including at least two that I've previously reported...

I wonder if it depends which mod picks it up? I've reported some and they've been removed - others have not been removed. Sometimes I wonder if it's just not possible for the mods to go through all the reports

Just looked through the 'Men Online Now' pages again, and saw another dozen or so statuses looking for meets...

....including a guy in London apparently hosting a "gangbang tonight", and another with "great threesome last night, who's free tonight?"...

Site supporters or not, Admin should be deleting or at least suspending these profiles immediately - by failing to take action, the site owners could be considered complicit in illegal activities...

See, that's the problem, people are making selfish assessments to themselves and probably don't get personally affected but pass it on unknowingly, that's not alright. Do you think a death has occurred indirectly from a fab meet during the pandemic? I know my answer.
