The year 2020 in total

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Hey guys, quite new to the forums but thought I'd just ask you all how your year has been in total.

For me personally, I could easily say this was my worst year by far but when I look at it in a different perspective, I could say it could be one of my best years because it's really taught me a lot about myself (albeit very painfully) and the family and friends in my inner circle.

Probably won't get as many responses, but this thread is here if anyone wants to talk and reflect. Maybe we'll get into meaty stuff on here and maybe we won't either one is fine. But I hope you have a good day and good reminder of the year.

Peace.

Some parts of 2020 have been really very good. We're lucky, we could weather full lock down really well and we don't have to worry about losing our jobs. Other parts have been horrible. BUT we have a roof over our head and food on the table, we're in the lucky group

Deal

Been lucky enough to have worked throughout, think I may not have survived without the support and love of my team

One of the worst years of my life, and not just for Covid.

2021 can't come quick enough

Challenging to say the least, and continues to be so.

You’re right though, I mean look at us we’re still here, still trying to muddle through and find a way. I’m grateful to have found out how resilient I can be and that I’m a lot stronger than I thought. That’s really positive.

As is the way folk have rallied round each other, that’s kinda beautiful too.

This won’t last forever, nothing does, there are better times ahead.

Positives:

I started it making one of my dreams come true...

Strenghtened my relationship with a very dear friend.

Got to travel to France and Mexico.

Negatives:

I lost my job, I am really struggling to get another one and my mental health has really suffered with the lockdowns. I’ve been diagnosed with another episode of depression.

Ever more important to check up on your loved ones and see if you can make their day better

Honestly that was so beautifully said, it's amazing how hard and testing times can shape you into something better and wiser!

Hey, stay strong! I was diagnosed with depression earlier in the year and I nearly took my own life as I felt so numb and didn't care. Only really coming into terms with it just now. Things will get better

It has been a hard year, but by no means the worst year either of us have ever had.

We found, purchased, and eventually moved into our forever home, so plenty of positive things to look at.

And while Covid has put a pause on the business plans, it has given us time to work on the property to get it ready to be the kinky/swinger-friendly b&b it will become.

Just need to make the kids move out now! If we had all known how long lockdown would last...

Yes it's been a crap year overall

For me, it's been challenging. Having a lot of stress build up without my normal coping mechanisms has been hugely difficult, and I've made some questionable decisions and spent a good chunk of time crying and feeling sorry for myself.

It's a very long way from being my worst year ever, and if I can get through that shitshow I can certainly get through this one.

I won't be sorry to see the back of it though.

It's made me revaluate my life and instead of being single I would like to find a partner, found out my so called friends and family aren't really there for be but on the positive side I have made some very good friends on here which I'm hoping to meet for a social when it's safe enough to do so.

It's also taught me to not put off doing something today as you may not get chance at a later date and to ask for help if you are struggling

Never before have I cried as much as in 2020, it's been difficult as I'm sure you know but we can get through it!

I found out that friends can be there more for you than family and that shocked me to the core and humbled and made me appreciate them even when I used to push them away. Definitely meet up with somme on here, I've made amazing people on here on my previous account and still talk to this very day! All the best to you x

We haven't been effected massively. We're grateful we've still got three wages coming into the house. We've saved money by not going out so much, but have still managed a holiday and weekends away. We do feel for people who have been effected and hope things get better.
