Just wondered what everyones 'care-down-there' routines were for pre/post sex and regular 'maintenance'! (Could pickup some tips here...!)
Have just bought a shower Douche attachment as BF and I have regular sex and not uncommon for my orgasms to be in double figures in a session!
Have been a little paranoid that I'm not as 'flower-fresh' as I used to be!
He doesn't cum in me usually so it's really just my cum, and I'll sometimes get thrush. I wonder if the douche will make a difference to minimising that and my overal 'freshness' down there......any ladies use this method or any others to keep your flowers in tip top freshness?
Anal is simple - the Douche will be great for that.
Penis care - do any of you guys moisturise or do anything particularly to prepare, or maybe even aftercare to a good session? |

"douching will probably increase the number of times you get thrush as it will upset the natural ph balance, your vagina is a self cleansing organ and doesn't need any cleaning by you."
I was thinking the same |

I shave both regions very regularly and I'm typically hairless, except for my face. So no hair under my arm, no pubic hair etc.
I cream my entire body after showering and I always pull my foreskin back and wash under their thoroughly when I'm showering and I tend to shower 2-3 times a day. |

Myself and Babygirl were both quite prone to thrush brought on by certain bath/shower products, stress/hormonal changes.
We started using Organic Coconut Oil as our go to lubricant (although use water based lubes for the big toys and fisting)
Interestingly neither of us have had thrush once since.
Apparently it is a natural anti fungal.
The worst offender for causing me thrush is baby oil, really horrible stuff made of mineral oil and should be avoided at all cost.
If using bathbombs or fancy bath products we splash out on Lush products. Other brands of bathbombs ect have upset babygirls bits badly. |

We have fallen too heavily for the marketing hype about cleanliness. Not that we should not be clean, but what clean means and how to best achieve it. A multi-billion industry wants you to believe they can make everything right, and that natural is somehow wrong. Sadly your bits are not meant to smell like a pine forest or chamomile lawn. But that wouldnt feed the army of people who want to sell it to you.
All kinds of "anti" really muck up the natural flora and fauna over your body, and allow the opportunists to temporarily thrive. Thrush (candida) is always present but is particularly switched on by mild changes in the ph. That can be caused by hormonal changes, stress, sex (his dick, your fluids, the condom lube) take your pick. Douching a jet of even clean water up there is a bad idea as you and water do not have the same Ph for a start (see above), let alone the mechanical risks and pushing things from outside wayyy past the point they would normally get to.
Its all the things your mother said.
Cleaning around the entrance gently and regularly with nothing but water and a *clean* flannel front to rear (soon after sex)
Cotton gussets (or commando for preference)
Watch your towel/underwear washing liquid and softener cycle. Most have short and low temp which may not flush through, and surfactants and private parts not a good mix!
Finally, make sure you know what you are sticking up there!

As far as the uncut penis is concerned I can only stress that before and after give it a quick rinse with water only. If you've been hard at it and it feels a bit sore then I've found a little Canesten overnight and rinsed in the morning then reapplied for the day will usually leave me with a fragrance free shiny helmet |

Are you seriously suggesting only washing under the foreskin with a quick rise of only water?
This is 100% inadequate cleaning and I'd hate think what anyone who washed like this would smell like |

I bought one of those shower attachments to douche for anal but I found they left water higher up inside and this can leak out during sex. I prefer the small bulb types.
With regard to vaginal douching they don’t recommend it as it upsets the delicate balance that nature supplies. Just have a bath or shower after. |

DO NOT DOUCHE YOUR VAGINA! Sorry had to shout that as really need to get it across. Over cleaning strips away the good bacteria and can cause all sorts of issues such as bacterial vaginosis. Clean the outside of the vagina only. If you need a little extra helping has try balance active pessaries. If you are getting recurrent thrush then you need to have a swab taken to see if it is actually thrush. |

I would never douche my vagina. As said above that will raise the likelihood of infection in your girlie parts!
It is a self cleaning organ.
Just wash the outside area well!
Save your shower douche for cleaning out before anal! |

100% wrong. If you wash frequently with water there's no smells or dying skin under the foreskin. Residue and smell only builds up if you have sex or wee and don't wash afterwards.
I take offense to your comment and insinuating I'm not clean. The only time you need detergents is with poor hygiene where you didn't follow up with a quick wash. I appreciate when you're out in public it's not possible or reasonable to flop your cock over the sink in a public toilet washroom.
If you rinse frequently there can be no build up of bacteria so no smells ...unless of course you went with a woman whose fanny smelt like a kipper. |

Woah there big fella! 'only water'? why would your dick need any (other) harsh chemical to dissolve water based material?. Men 'self-clean' too. Regular rinsing in warm water in the shower (maybe again with a flannel to encourage gentle debridement of dead skin) is fine. Emphasis on regular. If you suffer from phimosis that is different. Its difficult for a foreskin that doesnt fully retract. You need to be able to clean around the base of the glans (under the "mushroom" )as that is the source of the secretion in smegma. Any significant odour (beyond pheremone) is a sign of infection or balanitis and requires treatment.
Know your genitals. They are your friend. Treat them kindly and they will serve you well. |

Ladies, should just rinse their lettuce.
Turn the shower flow down a bit, aim it at your lettuce and use your fingers to gently toss it to flush between the leaves. |

Have to agree entirely. Wash with just plain water, cold or warm using a flannel or better still your hand. The use of soap or 'nice smelling' shower gel upsets the natural balance as previously stated. Commercialism seems to have crept into everything these days. A bit like the myth pubic hair encourages smells and bacteria. It doesn't. It has exactly the opposite effect. Acting as a wick to remove from the body any such. |

I just was and moisturise mine. Especially if I shave my balls.
No special treatment after a session other than making sure it has a good wash. Can’t do with a funky wang, even if you know why |

I love coconut oil to condition all the skin on my privates front and back. It has the added bonus when locked in a cage to minimise chafing. |

Where’ve you read that men ‘self-clean’? It’s nonsense. The innards of the vagina are self cleaning thanks to it’s natural discharge. Only the vulva needs a gentle washing. You don’t have natural discharge and therefore don’t have self cleansing under your foreskin. |

Ahem.. if you ignore the fact that men and women are embryonically homologous it is less obvious I grant you. Your dick, partic the prepuce and glans corona and retroglandular sulcus are skin like the rest of you, with a number of modified sebaceous glands (sometimes called tysons glands). These are believed to secrete, some say as as a lubricant some say a pheremone base hangover more obvious in other animals. The same occurs in the clitoral hood. Smegma is not just dead skin or bacteria. It has oils from the specialised skin cells in the area. The penis is exposed to the air far more than the vagina so tends to dry out. The secretions assist with this challenge.
Can men mechanically and gravitationally flush in the same way as most women? No.
Do they secrete materials that assist with skin condition? yes.
Do you scrub down your japs eye with a bottle brush? No because it doesnt need as it self-cleans.
Do men stick their dicks into places where they are bombarded with more crap than the poor soldier can deal with? Yes. That is why we should regularly wash.

Getting a build up of smegma isn’t what I’d call self cleansing. Granted you could call it a discharge and you could say the sebum contained within it may moisturise, but cleanse is a long shot. It’s hardly like that of the vagina or urethra.
And as you say, “some say”. Which means others would disagree |

Interesting facts and comments regarding to the hygiene. Everyone got their own routine and way x
I used to have anal every now and then but I just admit haven’t done it for quite a long time so practically anal virgin lol
This post get me thinking and want to ask the question as I haven’t done it before.... anal douching...
How do you normally do it and where get the kit to do it? X
Like OP a little bit, I think I never used to think or mind about it too much due to the nature of the area and a little “dirty side effect” would be expected... but I just thought maybe I am to start “practicing” again, either with toy or real cock, I would like to know how to get it more clean if possible lol x
Anyone able to point me the right direction please x

If you're building up Smegma then you're not cleaning properly or frequently enough. If you've been overly enthusiastic causing tenderness or soreness then as I said before...just use a small amount of Canesten for a day or two to stop the bacteria from taking hold as the skin repairs. Use just water to wash and smooth away the dead skin cells!

I avoid fragranced products on my vag I mostly use sanex sensitive I use to wax but haven't since lockdown shave every 3 days don't douche as it will throw off your pH balance cause thrush BV make you more prone to utis just clean the outside make sure you rinse off any soap well dont buy into products such as femfresh they can make things worse when I worked in a strip club so many girls had issues with pH as they would use vaginal deodorant |

Also think hard about what you eat. I’m a firm believer that both sperm and juices smell and taste as good as your diet. Junk in junk out. Too much sugar is asking for trouble when it comes to Ph balance. Also hair keeps things out- I marvel that Being hairless is what people find hygienic. Day to day having a bit of hair protects you more- or is that just folklore? |

Ditto, I totally echo this penis care advise. It’s amazing that things like this are not (or at least were not mentioned at school). At one point I was getting recurrent balantis which was being caused by washing my nob with the same anti-dandruff shampoo I use on my head. - I’m a basic kinda guy but like to be clean.
These days I just give it a thorough going over with warm water, no soap etc.

Yes warm water is better. A anal douching bulb is safer than the shower type as you can if to much pressure cause damage. I do several douches before john get even near my arse. |

Very simple with cocks imo. Pull foreskin right back, lather well with soap making sure to get in around frenulum and under the glans too. Then rinse off. If you can't pull foreskin right back then get practicing each day until you can |
