People say porn is bad because it isn't a realistic d_piction of sex.
Why isn't it? What is in porn that you wouldn't do in a healthy sexual relationship?

90% of population probably aren’t on swinger sites. Most/all ppl in here are going to be adventurous and would be considered pervs by many vanilla ppl.
However, a lot of porn tends towards the more violent/rough treatment of women (gagging, atm, rough gangbangs etc) and while some women enjoy that (and some women enjoy it sometimes but not all of the time) it is not for everyone but many impressionable teenage boys see this (a lot) and think that is the norm. |

I don't watch a lot of scripted porn but it seems to me that it's very male centred, shows little or no foreplay, implies that anal is to be expected and no preparation is required, every woman can deepthroat and actively enjoys it, pubic hair doesn't exist, men can fuck for hours and women want that... etc

You only have to read some of the forum posts on here to see that porn can give some people unrealistic views on sex.

The one thing missing from lots of porn seems to be respect, gentleness and tenderness and ultimately love I guess. The older you get the more you realise that just the simple touch of a finger or even a glance at the right time can be more of a turn on than any 'mainstream porn' activity.
Without respect, honesty and love for a person (not just their physical attributes) relationships lack the bedrock needed to survive the ups and downs of real life, buy then again what do I know  |

You stated that people complain that porn is unrealistic, that complaint is always made about mainstream professional porn, so naturally people are answering based on mainstream professional porn.
To answer your original questions, I’m surprised you can’t see what’s in porn that you wouldn’t do in a relationship, and frankly a bit sorry for the women in your life if you really don’t know the difference. Mainstream porn is far too rough, even violent, towards the women. It’s almost entirely filled with women being jackhammered in every orifice, to the point that you can often see they’re in pain. There is no kissing, no oral on the women, no attempt to give any pleasure to the women at all. It’s all about going hard and fast and throwing the women into a series of positions designed to show the camera the act of penetration; positions which most people probably wouldn’t even want to try, never mind hold for any length of time. Professional porn is so massively faked. Nobody sounds like that in real life no matter how good the sex.
But the amateur and homemade stuff, I don't see anything unrealistic that any other couple do.
And porn is almost entirely geared towards men because that's the target audience.
Bear in mind that the porn you might see online is the choice cut. You might see quite a brutal bdsm video. If you were to buy the full version you get an introduction to the models involved including an interview of what they've done and what they'd like to do. They show the binding process constantly checking to see if she's comfortable and whether she's happy, safety as well. Then at the end there's another interview and she says what she liked best and so on. |

Are you talking to me? I can’t tell so I’m having to guess from your comments. If you are talking to me, I think you’ve misunderstood me. I’m talking about mainstream porn, BDSM isn’t mainstream. I’m talking about the run-of-the-mill stuff that’s on every bloody porn site going. I'm not into porn, at all. It does nothing for me, and I agree with much of what has been said above. Taking BDSM aside, even mainstream porn now includes things like slapping, hair pulling, choking, anal, deepthroating etc.
All things that plenty of people do enjoy, but shouldn't be presented as the norm, especially when teenagers watch porn from such a young age.
It gives them the wrong idea of what is normal and sets standards for what they should expect. Which just isn't realistic or healthy for young girls to feel like they have to live up to.
Porn does more harm than good in my opinion. |
