Never really put much thought on the order. If MFM is straight then that would be us, butbthen how does it work with 3 straight guys and 1 lady? The extra M has to go next to another M. MFMM, MMFM, MMMF, MFM+M? |

I always think most contact sites and especially porn sites have always, in the main, called it MMF.
You do see MFM or even FMM on even less occasions.
But it doesn't really matter does it? People tend to know what others mean in the main or, if they're new, soon pick it up. |

Well there are many straight guys here who state MMF, so that's either..
1) a hint at playing bi
2) a misunderstanding of what MMF means
3) irrelevant as it all means the same, vaguer thing. |

Originally, it implied the one in the middle is playing with the other two-
MFM means a female playing with the two men and MMF means a male playing with the other male and the female.
However, hardly anyone follows the definitions nowadays and usually MMF means two straight men and a woman. |

Well every system has its limits! I think you just move on to saying gang bang right?
MFMF, MFFM & MF-MF technically work I suppose, but I'm totally making these up now AFAIK |

"How meaningful is the order of the letters to you? I'm never sure if people understand a clear difference, indeed if there actually is one, between MMF (bi) and MFM (straight) for example."
30 years ago they both meant the same, now the meanings have been changed to satisfy the people who were not even born when swingers used the contractions |

"There is no difference. If you disagree please describe a three male/one female foursome using the same convention."
What have those two things got to do with each other? I'm not talking about other permutations. |

I don't know how commonly used or understood it is, but I do use letter order to differentiate the two. |

I'd never assume someone means bi males when I see 'MMF' or 'FMM', but being a straight guy I always use 'MFM' because I know some do see meaning in the order. |

There and to the left a bit |
I think the one that has come to mean either straight or bi is MMF and is also the most commonly used - personally I don't tend to distinguish and just use good old communication and common sense to understand what is meant on a case by case basis.
I'll take a bi MMF any time though |

It isn't meaningful, just a fab myth. I particularly like MMMFs -always with straight Ms. If the order mattered how would you write it |

Exactly. That's why an MMF can be straight or bi |

You are talking about a convention that uses the order of the letters to give a different meaning therefore it has to work in most cases, not just one combination. |

For us doesn’t matter if we call it mmf or mfm. I (Marc) am straight and by saying mmf I mean have another guy playing with Kama and not me. So we both look after her.
But the question you asked was also a mystery for me in the past. |

I think when you go past more than two men, it just becomes a gang bang ...
Like there is a word for foursome but fivesome? |

I am wiser today than I was yesterday.
Never realised there was a difference.
Personally, I really enjoy DP and DVP - Some people might think it bi so MMF would by right, others do not so MFM would the order of the day.
Personally I read the profile and texts or phone calls soon sorts things out. |

Very interesting topic.
I always use 'MMF' as my standard, although I am interested in indulging in the 'MF' and 'MM' that it implies.
I only make the distinction between 'MMF' and 'MFM' if it is clear that the people I am speaking to also are capable of making that distinction.
Usually, the indication is if they mention 'MFM', which is less common and seems more of a conscious choice. If they mention 'MFM' only, I assume that they are more interested in a straight threesome. If they say that they are interested in 'MFM' and 'MMF' then game-on.
Frankly, it is rare to find a couple who write proper profiles, in full sentences, with proper spelling, with enough attention to detail to differentiate between the two. |
