I have several female friends, all in their 50s, who say they have no interest in sex any more! They just don’t get horny! I don’t get that, I’m still horny as ever! Who is normal? Me or them? I hate the thought that I am going to go off it!!!  |

Mine gradually reduced since becoming post-menopausal in my early 30s, and has been generally quite low for the last 2 or 3 years.
Now officially in menopause and on HRT so hoping it will improve.

Everyone to their own. I know a 60-year-old woman who loves to tease on xHamster and has sex at least once a week. She can't understand why her peers don't enjoy that euphoric desire of being lusted after, the feeling of being horny, and the release of being satisfied. I understand that desire but I also appreciate that not everyone's has the same desires and needs. A lot of people go mad for football, some don't, same for sex and swinging. That's my take anyway. |

You're all normal.
It's normal for some women to have a lower sex drive as they get older and normal for some women to remain the same or higher. |

Much is probably down to hormones.
Estrogen plays a huge part in sex drive for men and Women.
Women obviously produce Estrogen from the ovaries but in men a certain amount of testosterone comverts to estrogen.
As our hormones decline with age sex drive can drop.
My theory on why some still have a big sex drive after menopause is that some people are more driven to sex mentally rather than hormonally.
So even without sex hormone there is a deep desire and need in the mind and soul that still needs fulfilling.

I really do get that and find the less sex you have the less you want it and have been in that position myself ,BUT now within a meet senario im insatiable ,yes most of my friends are not having sex mainly due to health issues ie menopause ,which im glad not to be going through at 56 ,i do have health issues but at a meet they are forgot and im a desired ,sexual woman again and i take full advantage ,but its not for all ,the ones i feel sorry for who not only have no sex but nothing tactile either ,inbetween no sex periods hubby and i are very tactile keeps our physical relationship alive ..  |

We've known people like that in relationships, they make no effort to be sexy or seductive but then one gets some random attention or they split up and their sex drive goes through the roof |

My wife has lost all interest in sex, she wasn't the horniest to start with now she doesn't want it at all. That's why I'm on here. Xx |

Maybe it's the lack of sex and wanting what I can't have
