There may be various reasons to be circumcised- medical, religious or otherwise. In the US, the default used to be for babies to be circumcised without the parents consent.
I am uncircumcised and very happy with that. The foreskin provides additional lubrication and protection and performs a useful biological function. I'm usually fully retracted during sex.
