Do people tend to prefer the forum to the chat room and visa versa?

Forum: near-exclusive forum person
Chat: near-exclusive chat room person
Mixed: enjoy both equally in their own way
US: We get so much more from a forum than we do in the chat rooms, where it's mostly "how are you", "can we see your"
It is nice to chat to some people privately and see them camera sometimes but it's very hit'n'miss with the lot more misses (and a lot less missus). |

The chat rooms seem very clicky and as mentioned hard to follow what's going on.
Some of the forum posts can be hard to follow as you reply and it never gets seen again or someone else jumps in front of the post.
For interaction pm is best or other popular messaging platforms work better. |

so were all agreed, those chat people are horendous human beings right?
..okay so they're not but, on the face of it, a 'video chat room' sounds fun and exciting but in reality we've found it to be just an endless stream of noise by people vying for attention and yet saying nothing when they get it.
I wonder why or how it becomes that and if it could ever be made to work better. |

I use the forum so much more than the chat rooms.
I do pop into the chat rooms most days but I find it difficult to catch up on an already started discussion as the earlier part of the chat isn't available.
The chat room or the forum can each appear clicky but they aren't necessarily, it's just regular posters get familiar with each other. In all fairness when I have posted in the chat room I have always chatted well with people and found them to be friendly and inclusive but I do understand not all people are like that.
I do enjoy seeing forum users in the chat rooms especially if they are on camera as I get to perv at people visually whereas usually I communicate with them in written form.

I'm pretty exclusively for the forum it I've used the cam rooms occasionally. As others have said it's a little hard to keep track in the cam rooms and on the forum there seems a much greater level of interaction from people. Plus good luck reading anything in the chatrooms if there's a woman on cam   |

well that din't throw up any surprised. alothugh not very scientific (I may have over sold that a tad) My comments went completely un noticed in the mailstrom of "oh, xxx love your yyy" and the like.
