So if I put something On forum thread and I get a message from someone that clearly hasn’t checked what I’m looking for, am I wrong to just delete (which is what I would usually do)? Does posting on a thread somehow mean a profile isn’t important And it’s ok to message? Should we always include “no pms please”? I’ve seen a few do that.
And just so you know. I’m fully expecting messages for posting this I’ll probably ignore them.

Just delete away from where I'm sitting. There is a reply in forum option after all. This is a public conversation...pm is by definition , not.
I do think it's ok for people to pm (unless you've asked not). Its like starting a conversation in a bar innit..sometimes you want to start a personal conversation after... but people shouldn't be offended if you just delete. |

We do find it annoying when people pm us rather than comment on the forum. Sometimes it's understandable, if it's a bit sensitive topic, but most of the time it's just creepy. Devil had much more of that happening when she had her single profile on here. |

Its ok to delete them, I read them if they are in reply to a thread question and are not happy to post on the thread, but just using the thread to get your attention is quite common and delete does mean you're not interested on here |

Honestly some people are ignorant, arrogant enough to think they should get a reply or maybe both.
It happens and it's annoying, but you can delete straight away and block if you wish. |

Ok to delete but why ignore would be nice to be chatted to even if it’s about the weather |

I think its fine for someone to message if they feel the need about a forum conversation. Likewise its fine to ignore them. You don't owe anyone an audience with yourself whether their intention is innocent in relation to the forum or not. If your time and energy on private message is only for the purposes of making connections then that is fine. |

I think that you should treat messages that come from forums the same as any others.
Reply it you want, delete or ignore.
Posting on a thread, doesn't mean you want to have a one to one conversation with someone else who also happens to post on the same one. |
