It's got its own actual term .. age fabrication.
Should be one for using out of date pics that make you think either they are top notch at airbrushing or the grandparent turned up instead |

It’s one of the main reasons my upper age limit isn’t much above 40 despite almost being 41 myself. The amount of people who’ve stated they’re 41 or 42 and have been 50 at best is amazing.
Do they think people will just be too polite to mention it when they see them in the flesh? |

"It's not clever thinking you look like you did in 2008 .
Why do people do it .?? "
because they think they will get away with it but with most people they wont fall for it ... ive had it the other way around were they show you an older pic then turn up only for me to say no chance there are some on here who are 20 years older than they say...

If I got a message from someone with pics years old, I'd ask for some recent ones. If they wouldn't send I'd strop contact.
I had a social year's ago, he claimed to be 36, more like 56 when he turned up.
Nothing came of it, not because of his age, but because he'd deceived me. |

Our wedding pics are 10 years old but we have others from a few weeks ago and videos from a few days ago. Our pics are varied to try to show our personalities. That we like to laught and that we are totally in love with each other. And we have been lucky in the fact that most of those we have met from fab have actually been better looking in person than their pics |

I get that some may be gorgeous photos and I don't have an issue with it if there are others that are up to date.
I've only ever had one social on here where when the guy turned up he looked like one of those aged-up CGI things the police use when someone goes missing.
He leaves and sets up a new profile quite often, and I think the photos he uses are the same ones from when he first joined (and were quite old at that point).
It's a shame, he wasn't a bad looking fella or anything but I was quite annoyed that he thought I wouldn't notice his being 15 years older than he said. When I explained why I wouldn't be taking things further he blamed my age filters - had I not had an upper age limit then he'd have been able to be more honest. |

That's not what I meant.
I mean people who use ancient pictures in the vain hope they still look as good as they did at granny's 80th back in 08 and send them in 2020 thinking they look exactly the same . |

"We’ve got pictures dating back to 2009 on our profile and ones taken the other week. Our Fab timeline if you like. Proves we’re genuine if you ask me "
That’s what I was meaning but I think I understood the original post wrong xx |

Trust is paramount.
If you lie about your age to get round someones preferences, what other boundaries are you willing to ignore?
I can think of other elements I would amend instead of my age, just a shame that those too would be quickly found out! |

I'm far hotter now than I was 12 years ago anyway! It would only put people off ifI used old pics!
I haven't experienced it yet though, but we haven't had too many meets. I suppose even in 'real life' people provide a filtered (sometimes literally) view of themselves....but I would certainly be shocked if I showed up to a meet expecting one thing and getting something else entirely.

They simply put up photos they are happy with without thinking it may be misleading. Others put them up hoping to get a social and that you'll still fancy them. Some profiles have such a weird mix of clearly old and recent photos !. One couple we met, her photos must have been around 25 years old and she did not look good !, we walked away even though they repeatedly attempted to persuade us to play |
