This is from a friend who is a criminal defence lawyer:
Police officer: Did you smash your neighbour’s window?
Client: No
Police Officer: Why would your neighbour lie and accuse you of smashing his window?
Client: Because I slept with his wife without him knowing.
Police Officer: Really? How long has this been going on?
Client: Well it all started off with a bit of swinging, but it escalated to us meeting in secret.
Police Officer: What’s swinging?
Client: When you have an open relationship?
Police Officer: What do you mean by open relationship?
Client: Having sex with other people.
Police Officer: And where would this swinging occur?
Client: At the neighbours house, at mine.
Police Officer: Anywhere else?
Client: At parties.
Police Officer: At parties, what do the other guests do?
Client: They are all swingers so they join in too.
Police Officer: Really and where do these parties occur?
Fascinating as this maybe to you officer can I ask what relevance this has to whether my client threw a brick through his neighbour’s window?
Police Officer: Errr......um....um......I am testing your client’s account.
Client: I can give you some swinger's numbers if you like
