Surely what one person considers vanilla may be kinky to someone else.
Vanilla isn't a fixed description, it moves based on individuals and how they see it.
I dont have an issue with the term, I consider myself pretty vanilla, I don't have any kinks, i just like sex. Anal and toys is about as kinky as I get.
I do have issues with those who look down on others because they aren't perceived to be as kinky therefore must be boring. I have seen it on the forum very occasionally |

I was going to reply with pretty much exactly this. I didn't see this post as "Kink-shaming" unless you're particularly sensitive and take offence at the clearly tongue-in-cheek remark about pegged cucked and abused etc, but I see a LOT of profiles on here quite openly looking down on those who don't share their kinks. |

My aim was not to offend anyone into those things, I was just trying to create a space for people not into those things. If people got offended, I honestly don't care - it was an innocent thread and some people take this place far too seriously  |

There are a number of points.
Firstly everyone is entitled to their preferences that is the fundamental rule.
Secondly in stating your preferences there is no need to take a swipe at other people's preferences. The fact that so many other people made the same point as mine shows there was an issue with OP's wording.
[To elaborate on the point of putting people down, those into kink are put down more than people who are vanilla. Vanilla is the default position and people into kink have for a long time generally been seen as deviants. Therefore it is not unusual with people that have minority interests that are looked down on, they in turn look down on the majority. In all these circumstances you need to look at the context and historical culture.]
Thirdly OP set his comment up that if you hold certain kink interests then don't respond as it is only for people who like good old fashioned vanilla sex. I was pointing out that you can like good old fashioned sex and be kinky.
Fourth I was not going to comment on the thread but I checked OP's profile and saw that he has as his interests group sex and threesomes, these are not good old fashioned vanilla sex. So it was a strange use of vanilla unless he was excluding himself.
It is fine to say a thread is for those who like vanilla sex but why can't everyone who likes vanilla sex celebrate their enjoyment of it.
Therefore I was not attacking the liking of vanilla sex, I was pointing out that liking vanilla sex was not an exclusive position.
But it falls on the definition of vanilla.
