WhatsApp veri vid call or pic x

So was on fish site and got message from bloke we got chating moved to whatsapp chatted said we meet for social distance drink on sat so I sent him a selfie of me there and then! Asked him for same 3 times he said no I'm not into this selfie shite! With all that vanity I said its merely to show each other who we are save waisting each others time or a literal 5 second vid chat would do! He made me feel unreasonable for asking is this not the norm for people ? He said if that's a condition of a date then he leave it ! I said fair enough and good luck ! He still said let's just meet and if we dont like look of each other can walk away! I said no thank u ! As I find that most awkward tbh having to sit long enough as to not look rude!what's others thoughts on this?  x |

We normally insist in verifying who we are talking to before a meet. Weather that be a quick video chat or at least a quick phone call. Though the phone call is a little easier for us to tell if we are talking to a fake because we are only looking for women so If one answers then we are definitely on the right track. |

Even worse. Some people are very disliking of taking face selfies but to have them on profile but refuse to do even a five second video call, smells of a rat there. You did the right thing.
Plus there are plenty of nice people that aren't plonkers like that. Your request wasn't unreasonable and his response was dumb.

It’s completely acceptable to expect a verification of some kind and you didn’t ask for anything bad. You were 100% in the right. He is an idiot... and probably lied about his looks. |

I'm not a massive fan of the selfie shite either. But does sound a little dodgy. Presumably though he's a validated profile and you've seen pictures of him already? |

I have face pics in private, I always send them to potential meets and I'm very well verified on here so I'm clearly who I say I am. If that's not enough for someone, that's fine, we don't meet. |

If I move to another chat platform with someone I have connected with on here I do insist on a live pic to ensure they are who they have presented themselves as. I would never meet anyone I hadn’t had that from so no, I don’t think your request was unreasonable |

The on demand comment wasn't meaning you demanded it, it's like you can get films on demand, it means there and then.
I don't think it's unreasonable to ask, but if someone refuses I don't think it's fair to them imply that there's something wrong with them (not saying you've done that). |
