Polygamy is having more than one spouse at a time, often in an unofficial capacity, but not always. Bigamy is classed as going through the actual marriage ceremony with someone while already married to someone else. Bigamy is a criminal offence, polygamy I'm not sure about, though theoretically to be polygamous one may have committed bigamy. Bit of a muddy one. |
