Personally I find it's weird, been called daddy once, I don't encourage it but since coming to the UK I've seen a lot of younger women into it. So if it gets them off ok. But I agree with all the men who say it is weird because it is if I'm being honest. |

I get the whole DDlg thing and have had the role as a little before but never really been able to call the Dom daddy whatever his age. Much prefer to call him Sir. However I enjoy being called baby girl so each to their own I suppose. |

Kink shaming happens all over the fora, I think for some people they feel squick and want to express it. A part of me thinks that having people respectfully explain why they don't like a kink makes it a more interesting read rather than just people saying yes they like it. I don't think we should be drowning out those who express enjoyment in a kink though. |

I judge whether I'm compatible with people, if I like their morals and their ethics.
I judge how they respond to someone saying "your behaviour upsets me"
People have all kind of unusual kinks and if you find someone who shares yours then all good, but if your particular kink upsets someone then I think it's OK for them to tell you. It's not shaming.

Which is exactly spot on. But people don't just say that do they, they have to slip in with the little shaming digs.

It's not my kink, but I have no wish to kink shame either. I prefer to call Sprite Sir if we're playing in that dynamic. That being said, if I were to be calling someone Daddy, I think I might actually prefer them being younger than me, as that would take away part of the discomfort for me. The people I know who are Ddlg are not role playing. For them it is not like cosplay, which when you take the costume off you are back to whatever you call normal.
DdLg is a serious relationship, and just as people get the word Dominant wrong, people are misunderstanding the position of "Daddy". It is a position of caring, understanding, supporting and letting the other be a little in a safe environment.
Although the cliche is older man younger women, I have met older people who are Ddlg. It is about taking charge and providing stability.

I once lived with a woman for 6 years who was 14 years younger than me, she used to call me daddy sometimes to wind me up lol.
