Just curious about wink etiquette on the site. I had the understanding if you got a wink from someone it was an open invite to message them?? But I've had a number of winkd over the last few months and sent a message and no reply!! So makes me wonder why do people wink at people's profiles??

I’m of the same opinion however, imagine being a Female on this site and the amount of messages they potentially receive from males. It’s a very Male dominant site, they may not have even seen your wink or your message has been buried in someone’s inbox due to the amount of messages they get?!

If we wink then that’s an invite for a message, we are letting people know we are interested and we also think the same xx

I very rarely wink (probably done it 4 or 5 times in over two years) intentionally. If I like someone I'm more likely to message than wink. It is easy to wink accidentally and I have done it a few times.

I rarely wink, but if I do it’s an invite for them to message me.

Maybe they weren’t keen on your opening message? xx

You may be right!! I'm not great at messages I always put too much thought in to them. Saying that it may of been my goofy bosseyed face pics I sent them

I'm a constant winker, no sorry that wanker.

I always thought winking was a bit childish, like the thumbs up on Facebook, if you like someone just message them.

Haha, aww! Well I take it back, if you put thought in to them then your messages can’t be bad. Nothing worse than a one liner/copied and pasted nonsense. X

I wink in order to show interest if a profile has caught my attention, but

I'm not 100% sure if I'm what the user is looking for. If I get a wink back I send a message. Occasionally I get a message after sending the wink

If I get a wink from another user and their profile interests me, I send a message

What about when you both exchanged messages and then they didn’t read the last one ? It could be either a signal of not interest or your message get buried down thousands of message? Should you keep trying it or keep your pride and don’t send any more?

Many people ourselves included don’t really check the winks (yet we still impulsively press the button ourselves haha). If they wink back then that should be an invitation to ping them a message. Hope that helps x

Usually means they have decided to give it a miss. Don’t take it personally and move on if that happens x

I’ll give it a go and see what happens
