I'll support a local winemaker-

Winbirri Bacchus.

https://www.winbirri.com/

A crisp white which won the Decanter 2017 award as the 'Best single varietal white wine in the world'.

The 2019 vintage is now on sale, can be found in Waitrose among other places.

Keeping an eye on this thread.

Mine is a Rioja - Campo Viejo 2018 currently £6.50 at Asda. Love a Spanish red especially as it’ll be the closest I’ll get to Spain this year.

For a Spanish red, I recommend anything by Muga. I visited their winery in Rioja last year, lovely historical building and friendly staff.

The 2016 Muga Rioja Reserva is just under £20 and great value for the quality. At their winery I got to taste their top end Prado Enea Gran Reserva which is really good. But it's £50, I haven't splashed out for a bottle.

Will definitely second that it tastes like £20 wine.if you like that then any Spanish Rioja 2018 especially Reserva will be good. Also like the Argentine Malbec

Only a few Supermarkets in my town, but I’ll certainly search it out. Thanks for the recommendation

I second this, the Stellenbosch cabernet they have is an absolute better, especially at that price.

My pick would be Bacchus 2019 by Chapel Down. I'm a huge fan of British sparkling white, I think it knocks the socks off most champagnes in the price range. It's generally tricky to find British bubbles under £20 but I stumbled on this cheeky number in Waitrose for 17 quid.

It's a lot more fruity and fragrant (and dare I say, sweet!) than Chapel Down's flagship brut, so you're not going to get that crisp, dry-as-a-bone champagne kick from it so I'd pay a little more for the brut if that's what you're after. This was absolutely delicious though, I got a hint of peach and a boldly floral elderflower note. Refreshing as fuck, and a perfect glass of bubbly for a summer evening.

Aldi had a really really quaffable Nero D'Avola for under a tenner a couple of years ago. "Fire Tree" i believe was the brand, I'm sure it was only about a fiver but it was absolutely delicious.

Does this include sales? Every Spanish wine sale in O'Briens Wines they have Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva for 18.99. A steal at that price, I always stock up!

I just came back from France and you can buy from any supermarket a Bordeaux for €10 that is fantastic.

I bought a Saint-Émilion grand cru that can cost £150 here for for €14
