Is 55 a magic number?

Why do so many people have an upper age limit of 55 on their profiles? I know it is the choice of the individual but I would be interested in knowing why 55.

Don't know but I'm knackered now as I'm older than that so out of lot's of peoples age ranges

I find the cut off age to be 45, either way Im too old.

in that case why dont you do what most others seem to and just change your age? it seems acceptable on here to, i would go as far as 35 or anything like that!
