I've only just started trying to grow in my garden, I've got tomatoes coming up planted from seed although they are still tiny, some melon seedlings and a couple of cucumber plants.
I also planted some pepper seeds, and have something coming up there too, but I've no idea if it really is a pepper or a at this stage!
I'm a very new gardener but I am liking it. |

I have some spuds that are just flowering, have got carrots, beetroot, peas & something else (can't bloody remember what else I planted) growing too.
I usually kill plants so its a shocker anything is growing!
Have got a good sized plum tree too that was already in the garden |

We're growing a lot of vegetables. Runner beans, French beans, carrots, beetroot, Swiss chard, rocket, spinach, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, aubergines, potatoes, cape gooseberry, strawberries, raspberries, grapes etc. I
It's been a great year so far for cucumbers, so much so I've had to pickle loads. |

Cool cool! I have peas and beetroot too. I've had to help them all this year with additional watering.

Yeah, it's pretty much the only thing which relaxes me. I just fiddle around with them, reporting them etc. |

About two years ago, I grew sprouts and the crop was ridiculous. I must have had 2 carrier bags literally full to the top with sprouts.. |

Lol Ive only done 1 row of the veggies, I didn't want to waste all the seeds in case they didn't grow with my fingers of death
If they come out alright I plan on extending & making a more permanent veg patch for next year |

What I've found is that if you snap the top, then pull downwards, you pull a sort of 'spine' out which opens the pod cleanly.
My peas are coming to an end too... O have more ready to plant out.
Kelvedon Wonder.

No I haven't, the spuds are in stacked tyres & the veg patch is like a raised bed, rectangle of house bricks 6 high & filled with compost |

Yes, super super easy but they like heavy soil. Basically sow seeds in a closed food container. Keep them warm and damp for about a week then they'll sprout... Put them into little pots and look after them in a greenhouse. After about 2 weeks, they'll be strong enough to go outside. Just plant them in heavy soil about 60cm apart. |

I've got cherries, apples, pears, plums, starwberries, loganberries, raspberries, figs, red currants, white currants, black currants, gooseberries, tomatoes and a load of vegetables and herbs. The currants and the berries (except gooseberries) have done really well this year. |

On my allotment.
Got Lettuces, courgettes and beetroot coming out of my ears (not literally). Had loads of peas, beans, cherries, ??. Currently blueberries are mid crop, ?? starting to ripen, sweetcorn over 2m tall and starting to ??. Brassicas and parsnips coming on a treat. Second load of ?? planted.
Gonna be a pain getting back to work later this month.... Even had time to set up a small wildlife pond! |

Tomatoes, cucumbers, some pepper & chilli plants , corgettes, Strawberries, blackcurrants, salad leaves and various herbs.
Seriously considering putting a couple of raised vegetable beds in somewhere next year so I can grow more.

Patio Apple and cherry tress.
Beans, cauliflower, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, strawberries and loads of herbs
There's something special about going into the garden, picking it to eat
If only the strawberries were at 2m height though that said both my daughter's are taller than me now so I'll continue to watch them grow |

I’ve tried a few things in pots this year but I’m battling with ravenous slugs and snails...they’ve stripped my dwarf beans, eaten the tops of courgette plants and now they’re starting on my wigwam of peas! Thankfully they seem to have avoided my leeks, shallots, spring onions, carrots and potatoes. |

If you can get any sharp sand sprinkled liberally round the base of plants really helps with slugs and snails. Also attracting birds like sparrows . |

Ooh we’ve planted loads of seeds this year, when all the garden Centers were closed during lockdown.
Think the shopping chaos has encouraged a few non growers to get their green fingers into motion too.
We currently have lettuces, tomatoes, and cabbages, cauliflower, peas and runner beans and potatoes and leaks and marrows and looking forward to pumpkins in the autumn too. Also managed a good crop of strawberries and cherries.
What are your preferred feeds for your veggies? We’ve been using chicken poop and they all seem really happy with it. Smells to high heaven though

We’ve been using egg shells, but it doesn’t stop the over hanging leaves from taking a good nibble.

Blood, fish and bone dug in before planting then miracle grow, gromore or tomato feed after. Monty Don was saying that tomato feed is good for flower production |

Another good one is saucers of beer, you can sink them slightly into the soil, they drink , they drown. |

I've had loads of strawberries but they are coming to an end although I have raspberries coming out of my ears. New potatoes are ready so I dig up when I need some for dinner. White onions looking good but red not so much. Parsnips ~ I got 24 plants growing well after sowing 240! So a pretty shit success rate, enough for Christmas dinner though. Tomatoes x3 are doing well outside this year, it's a bit of an experiment as I usually do them inside.
In the greenhouse I have chillies and peppers doing ok |

Monty Don was saying that tomato feed is good for flower production " for the technology minded..plants that produces fruit or flowers need potash, tomato feed is high in potash so is v.good for either fruit or flower production .look at the NPK ratio on the feed and translate it to 'shoots, root and fruits '..grass feed is high in nitrogen (shoots),tomato feed high in potash (fruits) |
