There are lots round about Dam Square with various standards / prices, it is pretty central.

rho hotel every time we go its on the dam rak its very central turn left 100 yards red light turn right all the shopping and sight seeing ... and the staff are so helpful

Last time we went we stayed at the NH Carlton by Munt Tower - it’s 5 minutes walk to Rembrandtsplein for bars, restaurants and nightclubs, not far from Jordaan, about 15 minutes walk to Leidseplein and you can jump on a tram outside Centraal Station and it stops right outside. We were really impressed with it - good value, nice rooms...
