Want to go out with a nice couple in Sheffield in a few weeks. Never done this before so what's the protocol with hotels? Would we have to book 2 double rooms? Could we make one booking for 4 adults or would that look dodgy so should each couple make their own booking?
We thought about hiring an apartment but can't find any for just 1 night. |

Why would it look dodgy?! You know why you're both booking a room, but for all the hotel knows you're going to an event in the area with friends.
From other people's experiences that I have read about, I would advise each couple book and pay for their own room so that if the others are a no show you don't get stung for the cost of 2 rooms x |

Agreed with that, but if it's one of the bigger chain hotels you could see if they have adjoining rooms, therefore you can simply open the door between the rooms...
And if your worried about that (the hotel won't be worried, they'll just be happy to book the rooms) then when your booking just say your sisters or something like that |

I'd advise 2 rooms until you've met them before. We did an apartment with a couple, it was their first time, decided it wasn't for them and bolted never to be seen or heard from again! Awkward and horrible!!!
Adjoining room would be the next best option I'd say! |
