On the subject. Does tinder only show you to people you are interested in?? So females looking for other females? Like the idea of finding someone but don’t want people I know knowing I’m on there ....

Yes, from what I remember it allows males and females to specify whether they are looking for males or females (or either I think), and which you want to be found by.
