Throughout history female sexuality has been repressed and of course that’s cultural rather than anything to do with physiology. There was a paper that found that where there is greater male power, there is more suppression of female sexuality. In that paper the authors theorise that where women lack power and resources, they might use sex to gain resources. This is one theory anyway. As for some of the behaviours the OP lists, travelling long distances, meeting strangers. These are potentially risky behaviours and the risks are greater for women. We also know that younger men are more likely to engage in potentially risky behaviours in general, so that might come into play too | |||
