Am I a snob?

Earlier today a couple winked me, but after a couple of messages I just had to block them because of their poor communication skills.

It wasn't broken English as if it were not their first language, but sloppy speech, and unfriendly too.

I can forgive the odd spelling mistake/typo, but we need to maintain our personal standards, right?

I may have passed up the best sex of my life, but I suspect I've dodged a bullet.

I don't think you're a snob, I think you've avoided someone that wasn't suitable for you. They will find one else on a similar level as will you!

Yeah I totally agree, the odd spelling mistake I can accept , as spellcheck can change words without realising , but if you can't speak in a way I'm going to understand then there's no point holding conversation

I'm with you on this one, OP, as I'd have done the same. I didn't go to university for nothing.

Therefore I am also a snob, and proud of it

You could have given them an English lesson as you were fucking them , an opportunity missed op.

Not in the slightest OP, I’ve blocked for a lot less, if that click isn’t there you can’t force it

I feel you OP. I specifically ask on my profile for people to at least try and use good spelling and grammar if they want to message me.

I spoke to some people where I’ve literally had to sit and decipher every message and it really ruins any kind of attraction for me

I get put off by all sorts of things. If that makes me a snob then so be it.

This is why I keep my messages simple

“ WUU2 , Fancy a fuck “

Easy and straight to the point.....

Being on an online site to make choices about who to meet isn’t easy - you have to use whatever signals you can.

It can be photos, profiles, references , or the words they use in chats

Until you meet it’s all you have x

Go with what you feel is best for you and who you are

I regularly reach for the block button if people can't communicate properly. My pet hate is people saying "use" instead of "you"

I don't really block people, but I stop communicating with couples and women who can only reply in monosyllabic text.

What's the point in trying to prolong a convo when the replies you get are along the lines of "lol yeah haha" Of course, people may respond differently when meeting in person, but it doesn't bode well if you can't maintain a simple conversation
